Chin up dearie!! Sounds like you have a plan in place!!! my 2 cents on the whole thing,

A) I almost lost my mother 3 times in 1 year due to heart, cancer, miscommunication and have realized that no matter how INSANE moms make us, they are non-replaceable people who you just have to love!! Be thrilled to get to have this time with each other!!!

B) On the next vacation she takes to WDW and your not involved she can spend her money how she sees fit!!

I did start telling my DFIL who would comment on EVERYTHING that he didn't like, that it was a good thing he recoginized that he hated (whatever) and never buy it, watch it, listen to it, ect...

example, he told me that he didn't like a particular Christmas sweater that I was wearing, instead of getting mad, I simply said "then I would strongly advice you never wear it!" he just looked at me like I was nuts!
At a wedding a couple of weeks ago, the band that was hired played all country music, he stated loudly and where the bride could hear that "the words country music was an oxymoron, if it was country, it wasn't music" I replied that it was a good thing he recognized that, now that was one thing he was sure he would never have to buy, a country music cd!!

I think he baited me to argue several times and I fell for it!! I have since learned and I don't play that game back!~

When your mom questions your spending, tell her to make sure that SHE never spends like you do and she will be happy!!
Never defend your actions that do not need defending!!


BTW: I am headed to AKL lodge next week and I didn't notice when you where going, but I could send your mom a postcard if you thought it would get her in the AKL mood!! just pm me with your address if you think it will help!!

I say split it...

You stay at the AKL and let your mom stay at the Pop Century


That way you don't have to listen to her complain.

If you are gonna split- I would keep the Savannah view. That has got to be the coolest thing ever. Your mom may love saving money (I mean don't we all.) but it is just like the credit card commercial.

Sounds like you've got your ducks in a row now. But in case no one posted this info yet, thought I'd throw it out there so you (or rather your mom) can be glad about the AKL. Did you know that the first week in December is Pop Warner Football Days at WDW? Just imagine all those kids, running up and down the hallways of the value resorts. Finally, you're mom should be happy (and hopefully thanking you) that she's spending the extra money.
