Downgrading/upgrading Annual Pass after buying DVC direct?

This may be a really dumb question, but in the interest of not unnecessarily waiting on hold with Member Services for no reason, thought I'd ask it here.

* My family purchased regular non-discounted platinum passes in December 2019. Due to the pandemic, the expiration of these passes was extended into May 2021.
* When at Disney World in April, 2021, we renewed our non-discounted platinum passes for another year, so that they now expire in May 2022.
* In May, we bought 150 DVC points direct, which would qualify us to buy the Gold pass instead of Platinum, with DVC discount.

Given that we have not been back to Disney world to use the passes yet that we renewed after the May expiration, is there any prayer of success in asking if Disney would retroactively downgrade our Platinum passes to Gold/DVC passes?

My default assumption is "no way, of course not", but hoping there's some small chance of being pleasantly surprised. TIA!

You can ask, but historically, Disney has not given refunds for tickets. Have you asked your sales guide if he/she could help with this?

All you can do is ask.

We were able to receive a difference in credit when Disney released the 2017 DVC Platinum Plus AP 13 month promotion (cost was $595.34!). However, this was in-person at Epcot Guest Relations and credited only in the form of Disney gift cards.
