it say min $35, purchase. Has anyone used? Does it have to be all food or can that include alcohol?
Thanks

Can be drinks or food. We use restaurant.com at Kimonos and it's a great deal.

Does anyone know if you can use these certificates for delivery from Giordano's?
Thanks:)

We had one for House of Blues, but the decore made us ill at ease, so we gave it away instead. We loved the Giraffe restaurant at Royal Plaza Hotel , Hotel Plaza blvd. DTD. It was great value. DD had Meditereanean Chicken and pasta $16.00, I had New York strip steak with carrots broccoli, and mashed potatoes, $24.00 + tax and tip- $25.00 coupon=$24.80. It was nice to have a quiet dinner with no commotion or distractions.

We used it at HOB at DTD, and it did include soft drinks, not sure about alcohol. I don't think you can use the Giordano's for delivery, I think its for inside dining only. We love to eat there, but have never used the coupons for the pizza.

We use them a lot(at home) and they always say does not include alcohol, tax, or tip.

If the certificate itself doesn't state the restrictions - what's included, what's not - go back to the restaurant.com website, select that restaurant again, and read the restriction. VERY often, the certificate is for dine-in only. About as frequently, it doesn't include alcohol.

can you elaborate on this - we are going there in June for the first time with our 2 kids - in your opinion, is the decor not child-friendly?

We have been to several HOB's venues (Orlando, Anaheim, and Vegas) with my children when they were in their teens and now with my grandchildren - now aged 4 and 5 - and I have never felt that the decor was inappropriate. Of course, if you go later in the day or sit at the bar, like many restaurants it can be louder or a more adult crowd. However the rest of the restaurant is pretty mellow, and if the weather is good you can sit outside. The decor is themed on the Blues Brothers tolerence for all peoples and all religions. Most of the art is rough, brighly colored, folk art in the creole/cajun style. Go to HOB.com and you could get a feel for the style. There is a seperate venue for music concerts but that doesn't affect the restaurant. I can't remember the details, its on the website, but they have happy hour special where appetizers are half priced so your restaurant.com certificate will go even further. Yes, you have to sit in the bar area - but not at the bar and during late afternoon it is still appropriate for families.

I meant to buy some restaurant.com GCs for our June trip when they were 80% off for Valentine's Day and totally forgot... any idea when they'll have an 80% off code again? I think the code i got today is only 60%.

I have to disagree. We have used them alot also and most allow alcoholic beverages to contribute to the total. I checked out the HOB one and it doesn't have the no alcohol disclaimer.

First of all, I should say we have never been to House of Blues. I thought it could be something like Planet Hollywood, but wasn't sure. I went on the internet before I bought the coupons, and I like their menu and prices, so bought the coupons from restaurants.com. I bought the $50 coupon because there were 3 adults and a child, so I figured we could easily go through a $100.00 dinner. When we got there, there was a 40+ minute wait. We said ok, got the pager and looked around the HOB shop. Some sloagans on the tee shirts were strange, but ok, each to their own. My cousin, who has very liberal views mentioned about them when we left, and I had to agree. Anyway, we went up to the front porch and waited. Looking around, we saw "Jesus" painted on the wall, and something about sex. I thought that was strange, but I pushed my uneasiness into the recesses of my mind. After all, this place has gospel music on Sundays, I'm sure it's ok. We were called inside, after about 50 minutes, to find out there wasn't a table ready for us, so we stood at the door and waited. The furniture the servers use (I'm not sure what it is called) to get their tables assigned had a large cross on it, but it was surrounded by beer caps. I didn't mention it, but tried to ignore it. Instead I looked around at the shoes on the ceiling, shoes around the doors, and figured they were trying for an ecclectic look. But I noticed more crosses and beer caps. It made me very uneasy. The 10 year old we had with us walked around some and came back to tell me about the cross made out of beer caps she had seen. She was shocked. My cousin suggested we leave. Although I wasn't pleased with the decor, I asked her if she was sure. After all, we now had 1 hour invested in this meal. She was sure. She didn't care for the ambiance of the place, and to tell you the truth, neither did I. I have very strong religious beliefs, and when she voiced her displeasure, I knew it wasn't just me. We gave our coupon to a group of 4 who was waiting for a table, walked out and went to Wolfgang Puck Express. I do not regret walking out, and will not be back. The restaurant was busy, but I imagine the kitchen was crazier. I don't want to discourage you from going there. But it gave me the willies. I'm sure others have had great meals there, and love the decor, but it's not for us.

I have not eaten at a HoB but I have seen the decor, I did not find it overly disturbing at all. Of course we each have our own opinions on that. :)

As for rest.com certificates, I have used several, if there are alcohol restrictions they will note that on the cert. itself. I have never found one that can be used on take out and tip will be added.

Thanks for this post. I am new to Restaurants.com and trying to learn the process (which i still don't understand). We got the 60% off email so we should also get the 80% off email and we will wait for that...

My DS and his DGF used the HOB coupon last month at DTD and I'm pretty sure that included a couple of drinks in order to get to the $35 minimum and the coupon worked just fine for them.

It's funny you say this about HOB because I gave my parents a gc to use there which they did. But they felt they same way, they said "were did you send us?!"

well we went this last tue with the gc and it was happy hour :cool1: so we had drinks and apps

This is great to know! We love HOB.

Now that the kids are older DH & I will go have a beer while the kids are at Disney Quest. There is only so much time he & I can take there! :lmao:

WE have never purchased anything from restaurant.com, can anyanswer these questions for us?

The certificates are good for 12 monthes, correct?

Currently they have a House of Blues $25GC for $10 (with discount code $2)with "Minimum purchase of $35. 18% Gratuity added prior to discount. Cannot be use for Gospel Brunch, on Holidays or Special Events."

Why shouldn't I just purchase a restaurant.com Gift Card instead of a certificate for a specific restaurant (HOB)?

If I purchase a $25 certificate for House of Blues it would cost me $2 & I would need to spend $35, if I purchased a $25 GC it would cost $2, no manditory 18% tip that I can see & House of Blues in DTD is participating. Am I missing anything here?

The 80% off code is DINE right now.
I bought a $50 gift card for Restaurant.com and I have to use it for a certificate. They have a different way of redeeming the gift "card." Not sure if that is what you mean. I use these certs. all the time, never had any trouble, ever. Some restaruants do allow you to use the cert. for alcohol but as stated before, it is up to the restaurant and they will put that on the cert. You can save a lot on your trip if you use these.
