down side to booking DL resort reservations through Orbitz?

So let me get this with right.......

I can book through Orbitz with their discount (15% at the moment). AND THEN...when the discounts come out through Disney, or the Disney Visa Rewards perks (We have Disney Visa), I can add those discounts on top of that??? Just trying to make sure I can stack discounts :yay:
You can stack Orbtiz discount on any that appear in Orbitz. For instance, currently, there are discounts out for WDW resorts when you book with Disney. If you check the rates shown in Orbtiz you will notice the rate shown is the same as the discounted rate with Disney. So if you book through Orbitz you will get that rate and then you can apply any discount Orbtiz has on top of that. But, that only works if the discount is the starting rate shown in Orbitz. I suspect that Disney Visa discounts are not done that way.

OK I think that makes sense. SO what I was hoping to do was book through Orbitz with their discount and then call and have the Disney Visa Reward applied when it came out. Doesn't look like I will be able to do that.

You never know for sure but I'm thinking, if you do it that way, the DV discount would replace the discount you book with, rather than stack on top of.

Most recently they have had both Club and Suites (1 br) at DLH. I had a suite booked last week (I cancelled and switched to Premium) but they did have them.
You can call Orbitz to add room request just like you would with Disney. You ask them to call Disney on your behalf. It works well.

I was just able (March 2016) to call the DL Hotel directly and get them to add a room request for my Orbitz reservation.

Just a heads up for anyone who is researching this out in the future. Be careful to note exactly what the cancellation policy is before booking (take a screenshot or something). There are reports from WDW Orbitz bookings that some people are now charged a $25 cancellation fee. Some were told up front, one person didn't find out until they received their confirmation email. I still see free cancellation for Disneyland hotels but it is something to keep an eye on.

Cheaptickets, sister company of orbitz, is offering 20% discount with promo code Clover20. I canceled my Orbitz reservation and rebook with cheaptickets.

When booking on Orbitz for stacking deals like this, do you have to pay in full like the Disney website? Or is your credit card on-hold for booking as if you were booking a regular hotel on their website?:magnify:
