This December, my Dbf and I are going for a week. We've got ADR's ranging from Narcoosees to Liberty Tree. Now, we've made reservations for every day except our last, and we're looking for a down home type foods (chicken, ribs, etc) Since this is his first time, I don't want to overwhelm him with fancy restaurants.

I have ate at Whispering Canyon, and I didn't enjoy it because of the antics. Does Trails End do the same thing? Are there any other places that serve ribs and such?

Prime Time at HS is fried chicken, meatloaf, mash potatos, pot roast
Trails End Buffett(FW) has fried chicken, mac and cheese, apple cobbler
Garden Grill in Ep has fried catfish, green beans, mac and cheese and more.

I'd go to trails end. No, they don't do antics. The ribs are OK and the fried chicken is good. They have other "homestyle" stuff too. A carving board. Sweet tea, mac and cheese, etc. I like the chili. A few weeks ago at lunch they had country fried steak I thought was really good.

Nothing elegant by any means, but a good choice for what you are looking for. A pretty basic buffet. It is relaxed. Reminds me of summer camp. Easy to get to with a boat from MK.

Boatwrights at dixie landings is sort of homestyle also, I guess, and olivia's at old key west is sort of homestyle if you want to order off a menu. In a way I guess the clam bake at the beach club is too - ribs etc. and some sea food. People love the 50's prime time, but if you don't want antics that's probably not what you are looking for.

No antics at Trail's End, just a buffet. Another restaurant your boyfriend might like would be Boatwright's. It's more southern style food, but it might appeal to you two. Here's a menu from AllEars:

I am going to try Trails End this trip some time cause it just sounds like really good food. I like 50's for the home made things and this last trip there were not really that much antics. The waitress we had was just doing her job but I know that the one in the section next to use their server was totally into his role

I would go to Trail's End. We tried it for the first time in May and thought it was good. It wasn't the best food ever, but we liked the ribs, chicken, mashed potatoes, and mac & cheese.

There were no antics except for some singing to some birthday people.

Yes trails end is the place to go. We took a nice boat ride over from CR last year. This year we will probably do the campfire w/chip & dale later on in the evening after dinner and make a night of it.

WCC has a "quiet zone" they'll seat you in if you ask nicely...it's back behind the fireplace near the lounge. But don't tell anyone -- it's a secret! ;)
