Going last week of Jan arriving Sunday afternoon leaving Friday afternoon and have 5 day park hoppers. We were going to do parks Sunday night-Thursday and sleep in Friday but IASW is reopening that day and we would really like to ride it even if we are only in the park 2 hours Friday morning. Kids are 5 and 2 so without parades/fireworks/dumbo/iasw/splash and weather too cold for swimming we should have more than enough time to do everything even if we only have half day Sunday and a couple hours dedicated to IASW Friday morning then 3 days in between. That would leave us with one day to rent a car and explore elsewhere. I was thinking a drive to see the ocean possibly Balboa Island. Also kids have been to WDW 4 times in the last 2 years so I think our 5 year old would be excited to do something a little different one of those days. For DL veterans wwyd? Beach (and which one)? LA? Something else? Or stay at Disney Sun-Thurs as planned and relax Friday morning around the hotel as originally planned even if we miss out on IASW? Or not do a park Sunday evening to save that ticket for Friday (I think this would be a real challenge as we will be excited to get in)?

Stay away from LA. Its a long day with stressful traffic and no where to park. LA is often a disappointment. Go to Huntington Beach and have a great time there. Do some shopping there around the beach. Lots of shops and places to eat all within walking distance to the beach and a beautiful beach. Although the water is too cold to swim in its still gorgeous and relaxing to be at the beach. Or you could go to the Aquarium at Long Beach.
