:crazy2: I bought DDs down comforter & covers at Ikea for Christmas. DD11 keeps bunching up. Is there any tricks for this. I have one too & its fine. Any ideas or tricks for this.

Please let me know if you find a solution. I have the same problem. And the buttons need to sewn back on since they popped off when I pulled the comforter up from the bottom of the bed. I now keep the bottoned side on my side of the bed, but the comforter still bunches up!

Sounds like you don't have enough baffles - otherwize known as pockets, in DD's comforter. The more individual pockets, the less the feathers can bunch up. Plus, I *think* when there is more of a ratio of feathers to down, the weight of the feathers might make it bunch up more.

There are clips available that will let you clip your comforter to the inside of the duvet...I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond, any home store would have them...they work perfectly for this.

Thanks for the clip advice. My comforter is so hot I got a lighter one for DD's so I guess that was a mistake.

I think I saw it on Martha, she sewed in ribbons and tied them together. Don't forget to shake it from the bottom daily.

I did not know about the shaking.

I finally gave up on the down/duvet battle and just put the duvet over the top of the down comforter, it looks pretty much the same as it did when the comforter was inside the duvet and a LOT easier to deal with.

I just sewed a stitch in each corner and cut it when I want to wash the cover.

i had a down comforter all through college and i saw in martha (like tiggertails said) to sew ribbons inside at the top corners. i never ever had a problem with bunching after i did that. you just have to make sure that when you tie the down comforter to the duvet that you tie a knot, not a bow and make it really tight.

We have had a Duvet for over twenty years (not the same one). :rotfl:
To shake, take a firm hold and shake up towards the head. And when you change the cover, reverse the duvet head to feet etc.

We are remodeling and I told dh I as investing in a nice down/duvet set when the bedroom was finished. I just made note of these tips.
