Down By The Boardwalk, Out By The Mouse. 3/11 Jen's New PTR Pg. 69

Hmmm.... well, with my crowd, it would likely be a TS marathon, like all three in a row.... and then I would get my Mary Poppins fix in. :thumbsup2 basically if it is Pixar it is being watched at my house! Though I have to say I really liked Tangled... That was such a cute movie! :goodvibes

Jen and LL, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Here we go!! going on two weeks!! YAY!! Great news on the bag front Jen, Leslie I hope you have some success too! :thumbsup2 I like the Vera's I have -- they have been perfect for Disney trips... Can't wait to hear about all your shopping!!! :thumbsup2

I would watch The Princess Diaries and Finding Nemo.

Good luck at the VB Outlet! Just know too that the spring stuff comes out on Thursday! I am already planning my next purchase.:rolleyes:
Finding Nemo is such a good one. The thing about Vera Bradley is I hate paying full price for them so I don't usually get the new patterns right away.
Good luck on your bag quest, LL! I love my mailbag!

Well, funny you should mention the whole snowed-in thing since according to the weather forecast, it is a real possibility here for Monday!

I would have to theme the movies around the snow -- 101 Dalmatians and Bedknobs and Broomsticks. (I am filing that away in my mind now!)

So, I have to tell you -- I went looking for a comprehensive list of all the movies Disney has ever made so I could choose which ones I wanted for this post.

Do you know they are doing a remake of Swiss Family Robinson for 2012? I had no idea!

And And And...

Are you ready for this???

A Jungle Cruise movie for 2013 as well!!!! :woohoo:
I can't believe it! I don't know how I feel about a Swiss Family Robinson remake, that makes me scared but a Jungle Cruise movie for real!! How fun! I really can't wait. I hope it lives up to my expectations!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for fifteen days! That is so great!

Well it looks like we ARE getting snow today, so I think Disney movies are a great idea. So what would I watch:

Toy Story 3 because I absolutely LOVE that movie
Bolt - because I keep falling asleep in the middle of it and then I wake up at the part where they end up in Las Vegas and they keep singing....there ain't no home like the one you got, cause that one belongs to you!
I need to buy Toy Story 3, I have seen it just not bought it yet. Bolt is really cute!

Well since that question had me stumped so much.....I just love them all so much I couldn't pick....so I asked Megan! She picked Snow White (shocking, I know!) and Beauty and the Beast! :) Gotta love our princesses!

So sorry for the bag angst......what were the issues you had with the bags from the September trip?
Not issues really but with Marc there, we ended up carrying a sling backpack and while it worked for us because we would share carrying it, I don't want to to carry a backpack the whole time.

Toy Story Blu-Ray is the going movie here. In the house, in the van, anywhere we have to watch any of the three movies to make Buzz happy. However I have my Summer Magic watcher now- Hannah watched it last night at a sleepover with my parents. She demands to watch it again today with me, so we will see.

Good luck Vera shopping. I have my own vera issues...
I got a new purse, new style and pattern for Christmas, complete with matching wallet, but I am mad I did it... I like the angled tote and I should have gotten again in the pattern, oh well!
I love love LOVE Summer Magic. I haven't watched that in awhile. Being two weeks out, it's about time for me to put in a Disney movie each night before I go to bed. I should make a list of what I want to watch.

You're getting so close!:yay: Hope you are able to find a solution to your bag angst. I used the Vera villager last trip and really liked it. Hope you find something that works (& is on sale!)
I will say this before I get to our update....my bag angst was solved VERY quickly yesterday!

Hope you are having a fun filled day shopping!! :goodvibes And I hope you have success!!! :)

I think I will go with Snow White and Enchanted :goodvibes

Too funny that they are making a Jungle Cruise movie!!!:rotfl2: They must be watching this thread!!!

Tracy
I spent way too much money yesterday, but I guess that is okay since I got a bonus from work this week. :lmao:

I really want to watch Enchanted. Do you know that the woman who plays Patrick Dempsey's secretary is Jodi Benson aka the voice of Ariel? Have I told this trivia before?

LOL!! I went to check it out and sure enough they are making a movie about the Jungle Cruise in 2013...I tell you are we good with our questions or what LOL!!!!!!

So you know all this talk about bags:rolleyes1 I may or may not have caved and gotten my all time favorite pattern in my saddle bag and zip around wallet for the trip. Okay I did...I got them in Purple Punch the same pattern as my weekender!!! I will have 2 bags with me at Disney, my cargo sling and the saddle up bag (I figure a day bag and an evening bag)!!!!
We are very good with our questions!!

They are making a Jungle Cruise movie??????? :scared1: Will it be filled with puns????
It better be!! I wonder who is going to be in it!

Jungle Cruise Movie???? TOO FUNNY! Or should I say punny!

My DD7 has a bag (don't know which style it is) in Purple Punch. It's very cute and every time we see someone with that pattern, she always notices and points it out!

LL - hope you found a good bag!

Movies I would watch ?? Wow, tough one. Probably whatever I got last! HA!
No, actually, I always enjoy the Parent Trap and Princess Diaries (1 or 2). For animated - probably Beauty and the Beast.
I really like the Lindsay Lohan version of Parent Trap, don't get me wrong I love the Haley Mills one too but I'm a sucker for Dennis Quaid. :rotfl2:

We may be snowed in this weekend!! So if that happens I would watch a marathon of Pirates of the Caribbean and Enchanted.
We had a little bit of snow but it wasn't anything bad, it didn't interfere with my shopping yesterday. :rotfl:

Hmmm.... well, with my crowd, it would likely be a TS marathon, like all three in a row.... and then I would get my Mary Poppins fix in. :thumbsup2 basically if it is Pixar it is being watched at my house! Though I have to say I really liked Tangled... That was such a cute movie! :goodvibes

I'm ashamed to admit this but...I still haven't seen Tangled. :scared1: I'm even more ashamed to admit that I never went and saw the latest Harry Potter either....:scared1::scared1:

I'm getting realllllllly excited!!!

I think it's about time to start watching Disney movies every night before bed. I also should start thinking of packing and organizing...I'm not a fan of the night before scramble.

The closer the trip gets the more I'm thinking I might not do any solo meals. With as little as I eat at sitdown meals and the time it takes me, the thought is just stressing me out. Plus I can save $$ by just eating CS meals before Jen gets there. :thumbsup2

Jen is going to do a shopping update later today so you will have to read about my bag shopping later. :goodvibes

Question of the Day...

If you could win a free Disney Tour, which one would you choose?

Jen - The new Wild Africa Trek.

Leslie - Inspiration: Through Walt's Eyes at Hollywood Studios. I want to go on this tour sooooooooooooooooo badly! In fact, I'm tempted to skip my TS meals and just book this tour.

Which one would you want to do?

The change in your eating plan sounds like a good idea, since it would be saving time and money. You can find some pretty decent counter service meals that are not just burgers and fries.

I'd do any Animal Kingdom tour somebody would give me.

Cheers for two weeks! :cheer2:
We'll be able to say that in five more weeks.

You're making us wait to hear about your bag??? Pffftttt. :snooty: ;)

I would do the new Animal Kingdom one -- I looked the prices up and it is $185 per person! :scared1: I need a solo trip so I can do it by myself. LOL!

Can't blame Leslie for that one...my fault you have to wait LOL!! I wanted to write an update on this weekend's shopping...so you have to pffffttt me Jackie LOL :rotfl:

Oh, I can do that.

Pfffttt, Jen. :snooty::laughing:

Get writing, girl! I need a vicarious shopping fix! The twitter feed at the Weather Channel has been quiet the last few minutes, and I need something to read.

Patience, my friend, Patience!!! Update will come today....I'll leave you hanging with that!!!

LOL you and your Weather Channel LOL!!!! Any Jim Cantore sightings yet???

I would probably choose the new AK tour too. My dad and I did the Backstage Safari tour in April and had such a blast. But I also really want to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour.

The Africa trek tour led by Joe Rohde.....Hey one can dream right?!! :thumbsup2

Shopping pictures please!!:flower3:

Tracy

Alrighty, you were promised a shopping update and a shopping update you will get!! Much shopping was done this weekend in anticipation of our trip and dare I say a little packing too!!! (Yes you heard it here first folks, I have done some packing LOL :rotfl:) But hey, that's not what you're here to read about, you want to know about the shopping LOL!!!

Well Let's Begin With Leslie!! As you know from reading through our PTR Leslie has been suffering from some serious bag angst!! She was in a hard place, because of her solo days and things she wanted to carry she knew her Vera Saddle Up wasn't going to work and there was no way she was going to carry her sling backpack around all by herself (that would have driven her crazy)...besides all that...she hasn't had a new park bag in awhile. So what's a girl to do but see if she can find one...and try...and try...and try....and nothing was working out. First she contemplated the cargo sling, but it's a retired bag and finding a cute pattern wasn't happening! She even headed to her local mall in hopes of finding a bag that might work there, no such luck. So there could only be one answer...it was time to visit the outlet, the Vera Outlet, also affectionately known as the Den of Emptying Wallets (named by Prince P who cringes everytime I mention I need to go to San Marcos to visit the new Vera Outlet there LOL)! So it was on a Saturday morning, that Marc and Leslie headed to the Vera Outlet in hopes of finding her "precious". Would this venture turn out fruitless or would Leslie come out with a bag?

They entered the store, and BAM, there it was!! Like a moth to a flame, Leslie found her bag! And she is no dummy, Leslie grabbed a hold of her bag and I quote from an eyewitness to the scene (Marc), she held onto it like a football, no way was she fumbling that bag!!! LOL :rotfl: (Don't you just love a good football analogy!) Same eyewitness claims there might have been some physical contact involved while taking possession of the bag occurred, but since we have no instant replay nothing can be verified (Of course, putting in my two cents, it's dog eat dog where a Vera is concerned) SO....Does it get any better than that? I mean it's pretty awesome finding the "one" in a matter of moments, but this story comes with a cherry on top in the form of a price tag... it was only $25.00!! HOLY MOLY, Leslie hit the jackpot!!!! WTG Leslie!!!!!!! You made a great play!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

So shall we take a look at her new bag.....

1151835353_qUMD4-L.jpg

Vera Bradley's Mailbag- Sitting in A Tree Pattern Isn't it gorgeous!!!!

And so Leslie's tale of bag woes has come to an end and hopefully they will live happily ever after!!!

Now on to me...I have a Vera sickness! I don't believe that one can ever have enough Veras. I also believe that all Vera purses should come with the matching wallet and if at all possible the Zip ID case (see I told you I had a sickness). So when my mother bought me the Purple Punch Weekender, she had no idea the monster she was about to set loose. Could I really have the Weekender in one of the prettiest patterns out there and not have a matching purse??? I really had myself convinced I didn't need it, even ask Leslie we had a talk about it, I didn't need the Purple Punch Saddle Up I was going to be okay. Really....I was......

This takes us to last week....just out of curiousity early in the week I had made phone calls to local Vera dealers to ask if they happened to carry the Saddle Up bag in purple punch. I was just doing my civic duty and checking out local businesses. Well after about 2 phone calls it was looking good for my resolve, no one locally carried the pattern. Well you know they say that third times a charm....well Sue Patrick in North Austin had it. But I remained calm and solid in my decision that I did not need that bag...didn't matter that the store was only 24 minutes away from house according to Stanley my trusty GPS. I did not NEED the purse.

Friday afternoon arrives and I figure that I would take a "drive" and get to know Austin a little better, I mean its a huge city and I'm doing a huge disservice to myself not exploring a bit. So off I went and somehow I found my way near to where the store was located, how did that happen (LOL Stanely you Vera enabler you!!!)? So I figured well let's go stop in and take a look, what's the harm in taking a look? That's right just a look and if I happen to touch it once what's the worse that could happen?

So what did happen?? Was I strong, did I keep my resolve, was I able to thwart the evil pull Vera has on me?

Many spaces for dramatic emphasis......

LOL yeah right....I folded like a bad hand in poker!! :rotfl: So want to see my new prettys!!

So now we have finally ended the chapter in park bags!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!

In other shopping news...Leslie has purchased her pin lot

1151786088_mw8Da-XL.jpg

Let the pin trading begin?? Completely hypothetical...do you think 43 pins is enough for trading??? Curious minds would like to know!!!

Also shoes have been purchased!!! That's right I said shoes!! For our dinners Leslie and I plan to dress up a bit and well tennis shoes just won't cut it!!! So we had to figure out what type of shoe would be both dressy and comfty in case we went to a park afterwards (of course tennis shoes will be left in the car in case we need to trade out shoes)!!!!

Well the answer came in a shoe I wear and love very much!! I use these almost daily at work and they are AWESOME!! So Leslie and I will both be wearing

1151786052_mHTcH-L.jpg

The Malindi by Crocs!! They are such a great shoe!! I love my pair!! They are a great work shoe and I know they will do well for dinner attire and park shoe in the evening!!!

Well there you have it!!!! Our shopping over the weekend!!!! Mixed in toiletries were bought and packed (but we'll save that for another update!!!) Hope you enjoyed reading about our shopping adventures as I had writing them!!!

Have a great week!!!

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I knew what you were writing about and I still laughed out loud at several places! :rotfl:

I will admit, the thought of wearing Crocs again are giving me blister flashbacks to May '09 but I'm trying to be brave. :rolleyes1

I think you girls need to go over to the Prime outlet and check out the Croc store...
They sure had some great deals when we were there, and you could also check out the Disney outlet while you are there.
You are getting a car, right?

Cute bags!
My last purchase was Sittin' in a tree...hipster.

May 09....OTTV!!!!!! No more blister issues LOL

I had a lot of fun writing this!!!!!

GREAT shopping update Jen!

Leslie, good job on that steal of a deal on such a cute bag! I hope it's the perfect one!

And Jen, nice try with avoiding buying your new Veras! Can't wait to see pics of you with those gorgeous bags.

Now I want those Crocs! If I buy them, I'm blaming you!!!!!!!

Oh my, so many good enabling shopping tips here. Love both of the Vera prints you have. Forgive me if I've told this story before but when I was in WDW in Oct, entering through my "private entrance," the security guard stopped me in my tracks by saying "thank you for sharing your Vera with me" after he looked through it. I was stunned. Turns out he is perhaps the best attuned to purse trends of any of us! :rotfl: He knew quite a few popular brands.

Can't believe your packing has begun. Good for you! :worship: Sure wish I was going soon. Hoping it will warm up for you but know you'll have a great time no matter what.

I've never seen that croc shoe... off to google it...

OOOOH dying to hear how the Malindi works out in the parks. Those might be perfect for nighttime Crocs for my next trip :rolleyes1

Great job with the new Vera purchases. Very jealous! I wish my Vera was just slightly bigger so that my DSLR could fit in it because i would totally use mine as a park bag.
