Doubloon Sail and Snorkel-Opinions needed!

I am considering this excursion for our upcoming cruise.
If anyone has been on this excursion, could you give me your opinions, please??

I have not been yet, but have this booked for our 1/22 cruise. After reading many glowing reviews on this board, I might add!

One nice poster even emailed pictures and it looked like they were all having an awesome time.

We went on this excursion in early November, and liked it a lot. The equipment was first rate, the crew was a lot of fun and very competent. They gave a nice "snorkeling 101" class for the newbies. Our grandkids and thei parents had never snorkeled before, but they felt comfortable jumping in and had a great time.

Everyone got a pirate tattoo on the way back, and the kids thought that was fun. We got to raise the sails, and each of the kids got to steer for a while on the return trip.

Beer and "banana benders" were readily available, and they made sure your glass was never empty. Judging by the amount of Doubloon souvenirs that DW purchased, she must have enjoyed the trip a lot. Or enjoyed the banana benders a lot.

The only negatives were that it was filled to capacity, and that made for a pretty full boat. The other thing is that the "snack" provided was simply chips and salsa. We didn't care, but some people thought they'd get a real meal.

They also take everybody's picture and post them on their website. Here's DW and I, and doesn't it look like we're having fun?

We enjoyed our trip with them in Aug. It was DS 11 first snorkle trip and he had a great time. We saw 3 turtles in Turtle Cove. If you snorkle a lot and are used to having the ocean to yourself it might not be what your looking for, as there are several tours that end up in the same cove and it is a busy place. For a beginner it is just the right amount of time in the water. The sail boat is fun. If I had a choice I would book the catimeran trip as the Cats are always fun to sit in the front on the nets and get wet. We booked too late and Doubloon was a good 2nd choice. Enjoy.

You will not regret this at all - we had a wonderful time and the crew seem like they really enjoy what they do. They included the kids in everything and my boys 9 and 11 had a blast. We could not go to turtle cove because there were a lot of kids on our excursion instead we went to Shipwreck cove and there were lots of fish and of course a shipwreck. I say Go for It!

Our 10YO granddaughter was fascinated by Trish, who was our snorkel guide. I told her that, hey, maybe she could get a job like that some day. Boy, did I get a dirty from DD on that one!
