Doubling up on Dining Plans (back-to-back)?

I have a split stay coming up with the deluxe dining plan and tickets attached to the first half. I see that I can now add a dining plan to a room-only reservation (by phone). So I could add a regular dining plan to the second half as well. I'm curious about the complications of this. Would I have trouble on the day that the two overlap? My concern is that they may take the table credits from from second plan before using up the ones from the first plan.

Thoughts? Anybody do two plans back-to-back before?

Technically, you cannot add a dining plan to a room only reservation. What you would be doing is cancelling your room only reservation in favor of booking a ticketless package reservation. You would be refunded the deposit on the room only and you would pay a new deposit on the ticketless package.

This is really relevant only because the terms for deposit, payment and cancellation change when you switch from a room only reservation to a package reservation.

I have not booked the second half yet, so I would not have to cancel anything I would just book the DDP/Room package instead of booking a RO. So yes, you're right. I didn't word it correctly, but I'm not worried about the actual act of adding the plan. My question comes with the overlap of two dining plans and what happens with the credits.

you would likely have to caution the server to take the credits from the correct dining account.

Yes, I did this in November...two DVC reservations, both with DxDDP. It was very easy. Your first set of credits expire at midnight even if you have checked out of the first resort so just explain to your server you want to use those credits. I used up the snack credits before checking into the second resort to avoid any possible confusion.

I just asked this a few minutes ago! Can I also do this for a split stay at a moderate?

Never mind! Just found out if I call I can book a ticketless package on the room only reservation.

This may be on the other thread; I didn't go look. Keep in mind that you CANNOT combine credits from the two different plans to "pay" for a 2 TS meal. So if you have a signature scheduled for that transition day, be sure you have enough credits from the first to cover it or some people use the first one and some use the second one. One person cannot use credits from both.
