Anyone stay at the Doubletree Villas at the Maingate? I am considering giving up my room at PO-Riverside at the rate of 126/night and booking here at 89/night. Wanted to know about any positive/negative experiences people had while staying here. Also what is their transportation like to the different WDW parks or should we rent a car?

Hi,

We stayed there last April and enjoyed it!! There were 2 adults and three kids, 16, 10 and 10. The two bedroom unit was spacious, with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a pull out couch. We had daily maid service....they even ran the dish washer. For the $80.00 a night we payed, we were pleased. Was it the Ritz...no, it needed a few minor repairs...the second bath shower door needed to be jiggled some...and the carpets had some spots but were clean. Our patio to the outside had a nice view of the water ways..we had coffee there every morning. The pool was not overly large but big enough and clean. We did not use there transportation, we had our car, and it was only about a 10 minute drive to the park.. The hotel itself was off set from the road and was pretty quiet. It was convienent to resturants, shopping and other attractions. Anew shopping center was being built next door, and it is now finished. I believe it is a Target.

This April we got a better rate at Cypress Pointe, $75.00 through Hotel Kingdom...it is closer and have heard good things...

If you have anymore questions do not be afraid to ask...
