Doubletree suites or Comfort Inn, Lake Buena Vista?

As our trip approaches :yay: I have to make a decision between the two reservations I am holding.

I currently have reservations, for 3 nights, for a Kids Suite at the Comfort Inn, LBV at the travel zoo rate of $52 per night, or the Mouse saver rate at the Doubletree Suites LBV ($89 per night).

We are a family of 4 (with a 6 and 7 year old), and we will have a hire car for transportation. Which hotel reservation would you keep?

The Comfort Inn LBV is the worst dump I've ever stayed at ever. They are both close to downtown disney.

Have you thought about the Holiday Inn on Palm Parkway.

Finally, IF you don't have a car, then definitely go with the Doubletree. It is within the gates and you can get to dtd relatively easily.

Definitely the Doubletree! We have stayed at the Comfort Inn LBV several times when we arrive late in Orlando. We affectionately call it "adequate inn". It is definitely no frills and the pool areas are pretty basic.

If budget is a concern - I would look around for a better rate for Comfort Inn LBV (I got it for $33 per night in Nov and sister got it for $34 per night in April) - then book that one. It is definitely the more budget-friendly of the two...however, it is very basic. I love the location, the pools were very clean and I loved the frig in the room and the continental breakfast was fine. Nothing much - but gave us some food in our tummies.

What does the Comfort Inn offer for breakfast? We have our first night scheduled there (just to sleep until we check-in at the cabins), but I'm interested in the breakfast options. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. I think I am leaning towards the Doubletree.

We did book the comfort Inn under the $33 deal, but the extra is for the kids suite rather than the standard room, as it is more relaxing for us to have a seperate area to put the kids to bed in. I then booked the Doubletree as I was scared off by a few of the reviews of the Comfort Inn.

Anyway, only 1 more week to go until we're off

I stayed one night and the comfort suites and switched to Doubletree because it was unbelievably nasty there. I liked the Doubletree a lot though.
