I would like to know which hotel is better to stay at for one night?
Doubletree is 79 a night with free BF,
Hilton is 109 with free BF, and the Discovery Kids Package.
I'm not to sure what the differents are so has anyone stayed here?

The Hilton is an all around nicer quality hotel, is directly across the street from Downtown Disney Marketplace (walk over), and hotel guests are eligible for early entry at Disney parks. DoubleTree has big rooms. The lower room rate and free breakfast go a long way. Both hotels share the same resort buses.

If the money isn't a factor, I would choose Hilton.

Definately agree. If money isn't a factor, I would choose the Hilton too. I've stayed at both and it seems the rooms at the Hilton are "newer". Both were comfortable.

The Hilton is the equivelent of a four diamond property, the Doubletree is more like a three diamond property. That's a pretty good rate for the quality you get at the Hilton.

Also at the Hilton you qualify for early entry, and it's a five minute walk to DTD. At the Doubletree it's a good 20 minute walk to DTD and you get no perks.

Oh, and you can get Starbucks in the lobby of the Hilton.

What do you mean about both hotels share the same bus? Does Hilton go straight to each theme park and back straight from each theme park?

No - Downtown Disney busses are shared among (I believe) 3 or so resorts. I think there are two routes. So the Hilton shares the bus, and from what I hear it can take a while to get back and forth to the theme parks. You could also walk to downtown disney then take disney busses. Or drive, or cab I guess.

We have stayed at the Doubletree and it seemed like it took FOREVER for those busses to make their rounds. Granted, that was years ago and maybe things have changed, but it was a long trip. My DH and I kept thinking, "Are we ever going to get there?!"

Which would you choose if Disney entrance is not an issue?

We're heading in AUgust/September and want to add two nights to our stay at the onset but we do not plan on hitting the parks - we'll be heading to the Beach Club for the balance of our stay and then it's park-o-rama ;)

My biggest factors are breakfast (is it included?), CLEANLINESS (HUGE for me!), and pool for the kids.

Money isn't a huge issue though, of course, spending less is nice when I'm getting a similar product (also - can't use our Am Ex/Hilton points at the Hilton - can at the Doubletree)

Any major flaws or plusses at either when negating the park transportation factor?

Frankly I'd vote for none of the above if yo want a great pool. Try the Embassy Suites Jamaican Court, they are a Hilton Famly property and have a great indoor/outdoor pool and large whirlpool. Plus you'll get free breakfast and a suite!

I've stayed at both and would pick the Hilton over the Doubletree. The location across from DTD is a plus, but becuase of it's location it feels a bit more Disneyish. What I am getting at is the Doubletree is a nice hotel, but it is the first hotel that you come to when turning onto Hotel Plaza Blvd. As such, the experience with the Doubletree just doesn't seem to be the same. With that said, you can't go wrong with either, given the two great rates that you found.

The various hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd. share the same shuttle busses. I believe it's something like groups of 2 or 3 hotels share a bus. I've never had a problem with the bus system, unlike the tiem we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge shortly after it opened and waited close to two hours for a bus to pick us up at the Magic Kingdom.
