Wondering if anyone has stayed at the Doubletree next to Universal? Any/all thoughts, comments-the good, the bad? Can you walk to Universal?

TIA

We stayed there this past june and its a nice hotel in tower one but my ds 15 made a friend and was invited to thier room in tower two and was much nicer than tower one.
the staff there are very friendly and helpful and they have a place where you can get pizza hut pizza and star bucks but be warned the coffee there isn't that good and they have a good sized pool in which i couldn't keep my ds's out of.
as far as walking yes it is only a 10 minute walk and all you do is go out to front to sidewalk turn right and go across kirkman rd and continue down to next light and go across and turn left and walk straight for a block and there you are but after two four days of walking we decided to try thier shuttle and the double tree is the first hotel they pick up so you will be able to get a seat.
also if ya don't want to stay at the parks all day or just get too tired a cab is only 5.00 back to the doubletree.

Thanks ky07,

Glad to hear you had a good, positive stay. I work at a sister-hotel of the Doubletree and can get a very nice employee rate, but it's only worthwhile to me if it is located within reasonable distance to Universal-which it sounds like it is-plus I checked on their website.
Thanks again-
Cindy

your welcome and have a great time cause we will probably use doubletree for two days in july before we stay onsite and if you need anything from housekeeping make sure you ask for Barbra cause she is a very nice lady that went out of her way to make sure we didn't run out of anything all the way up till the time we checked out:thumbsup2
