Anyone stayed at the DoubleTree Guest Suites at DTD? Tell me about the rooms, how is the pool, what’s the food like??? Is this worth the extra money or would you recommed the Best Western at DTD for the bucks?

I haven't stayed at the double tree but I have stayed at best western dtd. i really like the bestwestern one perk is that it is on the right side of the street to see the firworks from disney. They have a pizza hut place in bestwestern and another restaurant, one sit down one order out and they are decent. The room size is pretty good too.

Just got back from Doubletree Suites DTD and we were very pleased. The rooms have been recently rehab, so all new sofa, chair, bedding, curtains etc. The rooms were VERY large and spacious and great that a couple could be watching tv while someone in bedroom slept. The bedroom has a long hall with dresser and big mirror and full closet. DS said sofabed was very comfortable and I loved the pile of feather pillows on each bed (and down comforter). 2 TVs, microwave, fridge...we ate sandwiches in, and they even brought us an extra dining chair since we were a family of 5.

Our room faced towards parks so we could watch MK fireworks each night at a slight angle or just go down to hall by elevator for perfect view.

All who worked there were very friendly and helpful, has a small Disney store where you can get tickets, mini mart type store, theater play area for kids (they had book reading nights while we were there for kids), pool is a nice size and while I could hear the traffic from I4 no one else in the family was bothered. Parking close to door, to parks in minutes, we drove and didn't use their buses.

We always look for breakfast included when we travel rather than pay for 5 so compared to all we have had in our travels, it was the BEST breakfast we've seen. We stuck with the cold buffet included in our rate: cantalope, honeydew, pineapple, strawberry, grapes, 2 yogurts, granola, raisins, bananas, 2 cold cereals, bagels, croissant, toast, muffins, a couple donuts, a couple pastries. We were seated, brought our drinks and we did the rest. The hot buffet looked awesome, made to order omelets, waffles, there were meats, potatoes, eggs........We never ate there for our other meals, but passed the room service a few times and food looked good.

We will go back in a heartbeat !!

It wasn't something we were worried about so I didn't check. We were only doing MK and it had late hours the night we were going.

Do you know if the DoubleTree is included for Extra Magic Hours?

Hi PhotoJen,

Unfortunately, the DoubleTree in Downtown Disney does not offer the Extra Magic Hours. The only Downtown Disney property that offers this perk is the neighboring Hilton.

I have stayed at the Double Tree. We were very pleased and would love to stay there again. The kids and I used the bus to and from the parks, while DH attended a work conference.

It is worth the extra money to us. We need a little more space than the regular type hotel room. Breakfast was not included in our rate so we ate breakfast in our room.

pool was great, staff was great. DH had problems connecting his lap top to their internet connection and they sent someone up RIGHT away. They stayed until it was fixed.

You do not get EMH with this hotel. (someone correct me if this has changed)

here is a link to a layout of the rooms:

The hotel does not have balconies, although there are several vantage points to see the nightly Disney fireworks.
