Doubletree at Universal entrance

We have a couple of days reserved here before moving to WL. We have never stayed here. Can anyone tell us how the rooms are? Is it clean? Would it be safe to walk from Doubletree to Universal? Thanks!

You can walk from Doubletree but you have to cross a huge, busy road. You might want to try for the shuttle instead. We stayed at the Holiday Inn right by it once and did walk to the parks. I wasn't particularly comfortable crossing that road!

I would ask on the Universal hotel board about this one if you haven't yet. I know that many of them stay offsite and this one has come up.

I think it has smoking rooms. We asked for non smoking, but you could still smell mold and smoke in the hallways. It was okay. The beds were nice. The room was bigger than an All Star room. The annoying part was the $ charge for parking. I protested it, and got it reduced a little bit, but I would rather stay at the Hyatt place than this double tree. I hate the extra fees hotels put on the hotel stay. And the worst part!; there's a big sign as you exit the parking lot that says the hotel is not responsible for theft or damages to your vehicle.

The other poster was right about the highway. You can cross it, it seems dangerous, but people do it anyway.

I haven't stayed there but my wife did. She loved it. It was last January, so maybe escaping the Canadian winter had something to do with it. The lobby is very large and the rooms were nice. She especially like the pool area. Here are some photos
