Howdy. :wave2:

My wife and I are thinking of trying something different for our next trip: a suite hotel. We're thinking Double Tree or, perhaps, Buena Vista Suites. Any thoughts? I'm leaning toward Double Tree, because it's on property ... but I'd be curious to hear what others think.

BVS is cheaper, according to quotes I've been able to get, but both hotels, I think, would be a relatively good bargain.

Thoughts??

I (we) love DoubleTree,
We have stayed at many throught the country, but not the one in Disney. They are all pretty much the same. They are part of Hilton and it shows, service is fantastic, but they are more of a "business" hotel, although whenever we have brought the kids,
they have made them feel more than welcome, the layouts and the pools are pretty much the same in all the hotels, the rooms have a living/dining room with a small sink/refrig counter.
Seperate bedroom, and (my personal favorite) a TV in the bathroom!! Not to mention you get those cool cookies upon arrival.
Check with Mousesavers.com, she sometimes has special rates for the Disney Doubletree, also always check the Hilton website, Doubletree prices do change often, and if you are booked and a lower rate comes out just call and they will change your price to the lower rate.
Good Luck!!!

Doubletree Guest Suites is considered one of the DTD resorts. You are eligible for e-night tickets (when they have e-nights), but not EMH. You don't get to park for free at Disney Parks. Price is not bad, but the hotel is a little worn out, needs some refurbishing. Our room last summer smelled a little musty. We were there three nights to do Seaworld and visit the Hilton Grand Vacation Club before we moved over to AKL and BCV.

The rooms need new furniture, some stains and worn areas. Beds sag a little. The TV in the bathroom is one of those little B&W TVs that you have to dial in to tune in the channel.

The dining room had a decent breakfast buffet (it wasn't free for us, and it didn't cost that much).

We had a rate of about $66/night.

Didn't care much for the cookies. Pool was a standard hotel pool.
