Hello! I've never stayed in a non-Disney resort, but considering trying a hotel in the Downtown Disney area. The Double Tree appealed to me because they are suites. Does anyone have an opinion or recommendation? I'm most curious about their bus system. Is it efficient? Does the Double Tree have it's own bus, or are the buses shared with other hotels? Also, do they go to 1 park, or are there multiple park stops per bus? Does this resort offer any firework views? Any info would be helpful! Thanks:)

not sure about doubletree - most of the dd hotels have firework view - but you pay extra.

liked LBVBW myself. also stayed in royal plaza like bw better.

right now the best deal is for Wyndham LBV

the buses were for MK and ak
epcot and studios.

they came every 30 minutes.

the only problem that I had was trying to get back to the hotel before AK was closed. because after it picked you up then it had to go to AK - ak and mk are not near each other - so after the first time walked over to cr and took the DD bus - which stopped at all the MK resorts before going to DD - but it was still faster than MK then Ak.

The doubletree is located furthest from DTD.. Its basically on the corner of 535/hotel plaza blvd... So if you wanted to walk to DTD be prepared.. its a little bit of a hump.. All DTD disney hotels have buses to the parks. All of them share buses and the buses (depending if your a/b) will stop at mulitple hotels along the route.. They leave 30 minutes and its kinds a crap shoot to which bus is going to which park. You could end up waiting hr for the bus you want. Also those buses DO NOT drop you off at the front of the parks like the Disney buses.. For example the Magic Kingdom bus drops you off at TTA and Studios, AK and Epcot a little further down.. They have an assigned spot they will pick you up...
With that said I have stayed at Best Western and the Lake Buena Vista and enjoyed ourselves.. but we had a car so we drove to the parks...

Was the hotel clean? Have not booked this hotel yet but it is in the top of our list for our trip in Sept.
