Double Strollers?

I'm assuming that DL has double strollers for rent, as WDW does. Can you get one of those free with the Disney Visa? Or is it just single strollers? I'm trying to decide if I should bring my own double or ue the free one. Last time we were in DL I brought 2 singles and when I took the kids to the parks myself, my son rode and my daughter (who was 3.5yo at the time) walked. But when my mom was with us (she was there for a conference), she pushed my daughter in the other stroller. Either way she was fine, but we do own a double now (didn't at the time) so I know she'll want to bring that if she thinks she'll have to walk the whole trip. If I can get one with th Visa though, I'd rather do that, as I HATE pushing double strollers and prefer the kids to walk when possible so it would be nice to have it when needed, but be able to ditch it when I'm done too.

DLR does not have doubles. Rumore was no more free rentals but I am not sure if that was confirmed or not.

Well I guess that solves that issue! I wonder why they don't have doubles? Seems so odd given the amount of kids that place sees in a day. And WDW has them so you'd think they'd be the same as far as strollers go. Last time we used the DL free strollers I was pregnant with kid#2 so I only needed a single and never looked for doubles.

I heard the free rentals was stopping too, but read a lot of posts of people getting them so I figured it was still going on.

I hadn't read anything after I saw someone mention that so I am curious to know if anyone knows for sure either way. I think it is weird too that they have doubles at WDW and not DLR but what can you do. You can however get 2 single rentals instead.

No doubles...I would assume that it is because Disneyland is so much narrower than a park built later on. Singles take up less room, and that's good at Disneyland! It would work find in DCA, which has broader pathways, but not at DL.

I haven't heard a rumor until this thread about the Visa free rentals going away...assuming it's not true, you can get TWO free single strollers with ONE Disney Visa each day.

I thought about the 2 strollers, but it means someone needs to come with me and I know my husband can't go cause he has to work. So I'm thinking about asking my mom to come, but she and I, well, we get along great cause we live in separate states. Together, well, that's a different story!

Yeah, Molly nailed it. DLR was built in the 50's and not in the era of stroller madness or ECV rentals. (Just a disclaimer I have no problem with either.) Just sayin' it gets really tight around Indy and Tarzan's Treehouse (Swiss Family to me --always!) and two double strollers would block the entire walkway. We used our Joovy Caboose which seats the kids front to back, as opposed to side by side and still got stuck in a crowd and couldn't move. Just something to prepare yourself for...

Another reason why I hate using my double stroller and took me till mykids were nearl 2yo and 4.5yo to buy one. And only then cause I went t WDW with friends, no husbands, and I knew my 4yo would tire out by the end of the day and want to be pushed or held. But I never use that thing. I live in DC, which isn't exactly super stroller friendly, so my daughter is used to walking. But I'm just thinking she might get tired, though she survived last time we did DL and she was 1.5 years younger.

FWIW, the web-site below says that the Disney Visa card allows 2 free stroller rentals at DLR, although not at WDW.

I'm at DL now, and this morning used our Disney Visa to get two free stroller rentals. There are no doubles, but you can get two singles at the same time.
