double strollers at parks

I have a couple of questions about the double strollers you rent at the parks.
#1. do they have a place to store your bag?
#2. Could an 8 year old fit in it? I am afraid it will be too much walking for Caleb.
Thanks for the help!

The double strollers that they have at the parks are those hard plastic buggy type and they are not very comfortable for a larger child. I used them last time for my dd and it worked but they were expensive. This trip we have booked a special needs stoller from Orlando Stroller Rental. This is a larger stroller designed to accomodate up to 100lbs. It looks very comfortable and it has plenty of storage space. And best of all it is cheaper than if we were to get a stroller from the parks every day...and we can take it back to the room with us so when we are returning after fireworks my dd doesn't have to walk from the bus to the room!!!

Check them out at www.orlandostrollerrentals.com. The owner is super nice! I think you would be wise to get something for you ds to ride in...even for kids without exceptionalities it is a lot of walking!

They recently changed the type of strollers for rent in the parks. They are still a firm plastic, but the new style is a bit smaller. In the old style, you could rent a double stroller for an older child to spread out in. The newer style has 2 seats that are in the new strollers are more defined and it might be harder to get a larger child comfortable in them. There are pictures of both types and also more information about special needs strollers in post 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread ( including more good reviews of the company that was already mentioned).

Thanks for the link. Those do look like nice strollers. Wondering if you can push that weight limit though...Caleb weighs about 75 and Aubree is a PORKER @ about 55!
I guess we will just have to wait until we get there!

And those new strollers at MK look like they might be OK too!

Thanks ladies!

Thanks for posting that link to Orlando Stroller Rentals. We are going later this year and our 7 year old has special needs, including hypotonia. She tires out very easily and we know we will need a stroller for her.

Just to let you know as a wish kid staying at GKTW you wont have to pay for stroller rentals in the parks just show ur badge and they will give u a stroller !! So id defo wait and see how comfy caleb is first before spending money on a stroller x

we also used orlandostrollerrentals and loved them. I would mention, that if you're reasonably sure the WDW one wouldn't be comfortable, you'd want to book the special needs stroller asap, because at the minute they only have one. Whatever you decide, have an awesome trip!!
