In July I will have a newborn and an almost 2 year old. Looking to buy a nice, durable double stroller for a good price. Any recommendations? What features to look for? Any brands? Good places to shop? Coupons? Etc.

Also, any recommendations for baby monitors that do two rooms? Our current one is one room only.

I'm also going to be having a #2, and I'm planning to buy a Maclaren Twin Techno. :) I know it sounds pricey, but if I just skipped the darned Graco last time, I'd have saved $150 and put that toward a better stroller. Diapers.com has a 10% off special for new customers that brings it down to $296. The downside is that it won't fit an infant carrier.. but I hate those darned things.

I'm not a big fan of the jogging strollers, although many people are. :goodvibes

Congrats!!

As a mom of four, I can't begin to tell you all of the strollers we have owned. We purchased an Evenflo with one seat in front of the other when we first needed a double. $189 gone...because it was so darn heavy to take in and out of the car. It is now sitting in the garage barely used. We bought a Maclaren Twin Ralley to take to Disney with us in December of 2007. It is so easy, IMO, to fold and not too too heavy to carry and lift. My son is now a big boy at 5, 55 pounds and 49 inches. Although he no longer fits in it comfortably for long periods of time, he still climbed in it alongside his sister on this Disney trip and even fell asleep!?! The Maclaren chugged along, holding the almost 100 combined pounds.

Try albeebaby.com if you are interested. We got a previous year's pattern at quite a discount. I hope this helps.

I own the Maclaren Twin and it is very good. I have many friends, however, that have the Phil and Teds with the baby seat add on and love it. It is very easy to manuver and is narow enought to fit through most doorways easily. This is pricy, but I wish I bought one instead of the many others I have owned in the past.

Another vote for the Mac- easy fold, durable, breeze to steer. If you do look for a jogger, we really like the Bob double. Awesome stroller well worth the money. A friend owns the Phil and Ted's, and it's a great single. However, she's found that, depending on the configuration, the double attachment can put a little one too close to the ground.

check out on ebay the store called babyproductstore

We just bought our third stroller from them. They are the Maclaren outlet basically. We bought two mac volos last year for about $60 a piece and just bought a mac twin techno for 130. they even had a 07 floor model for $100 tonight.

Target had the Sit& Stand by BabyTrend for 50% off (about $85)

It is very flexible - 2 seats that can hold an infant carrier; the back seat can be removed for the traditional sit/stand model.

Last year we bought two Maclaren Volos new off ebay for about 60 a piece for our 4 yr old and 1 year old. This year we will have a new born so we bought a Maclaren Twin Techno for 130 and will take that and one volo. We love the Macs because they are light weight and easy to take on and off the disney transportation.

If on ebay just look for babyproductstore products. I think it is just the ebay outlet for Maclaren because they have really good prices.

I am getting a Baby Jogger City Mini Double after this baby is born for the summer and WDW in December.

As far as monitors. We have a Sony Baby Call for DS right now and I bought a Summer Infant Video Monitor for the new LO. Right now I am using it in DS's room to "test". We really like it. I think we will end up getting a second camera for it for DS's room. Otherwise, we just planned on having to seperate monitors set up. :confused3 DS#1's is only used at night so I don't need to carry it with me everywhere, it will just sit on DH's nightstand while I have the new baby's monitor on my side.

We're about to have #3 (hopefully any day now) and we have gone through many strollers! We have done the two singles route; a standard sized Graco and a Chicco umbrella style. We have also done the sit n stand. The sit n stand has worked out well with our girls, but we didn't put our youngest into it until she was about 8 months old as the style that we had was only a bench and the fornt seat that does not fully recline. We have upgraded to a newer sit n stand that has 2 real seats, one which fully reclines. We also invested the money into a Phil and Ted e-twin, a side by side jogger. It's heavy but a great stroller! We used it at WDW in Oct with DD5 and 3 as our trial run with it and was extremely manueverable. The downside is the cost and lack of cup holders. But worth the investment IMO.

We broke down and bought a BOB revolution Duo! I LOVE IT!!! I too had been through several strollers. When I told my hubby we needed to get this one, he was like, are you serious...another stroller. But once we got it, he too was glad we bought it. I sold all our other strollers after buying this one, and I REALLy wish I had just bought this one to begin with. I recommend it to everyone. It is soooo easy to steer. You can easily push two kids in this stoller with one hand. Trust me. I've easily been able to eat an ice cream cone in one hand and push the kiddo's with the other through the zoo without ever having to put two hands on it. It's amazing!!! The storage is also wonderful. A large basket on the bottom, large mesh pockets on the back of each seat, and one mesh pocket on each side of each seat, pefect for snacks and sippy cups. I did have to buy the adult cup holder seperate, but also very worth it. It does accomodate an infant car seat with a carseat bar, but again, has to be purchased serparately. It's not a cheap stoller, but after having a few cheap and moderately expensive strollers, there is a HUGE difference!! OH, and definately don't waste your money on a GRACO! They seem really nice to begin with, but once the kids get a little bigger (like 1.5) , they are garbage!
