We need a double stroller and I need input, I have looked at a bunch but I don't even know what to look for. I don't need it for jogging, mostly just walking on sidewalks and hard surfaces. I am due in Feb and then I will have the baby and a 1 yo. One that fits a car seat might be nice, but I don't know if that's short sighted.
My DH is worried that the kid in back will be bored with an inline because they are just staring at the back of the other ones seat. I think inlines are easy to maneuver. We also need one that folds smaller. I am also on a budget, I don;t want to go more than $300 or $350 so that eliminates a few of the high end brands.
So what should I look for? What double do you love and why? thanks!!

I don't have a recommendation, but I had the Graco Duo Glider and didn't like it at all. Soooo heavy to push, especially with 100lbs of children. And it never folded very well. I was glad to give it away!

Congrats on your baby, too.

Congrats on your baby, too.

That was one of the models I was thinking about!
Thanks, it was quite a surprise when this almost 40 year old "infertile" couple found out we were expecting, and then even more when we were expecting again when our baby was 3 months old!

I had the Graco duo and it was a nightmare. We got the Baby Jogger, CityMini and it is a dream! I seriously couldnt love a stroller more!~ Its light weight.. folds so easy.. pushes like a dream.. and you sould be able to get it for around 280ish. For sure my vote is CityMini.. :goodvibes

Try the Baby Jogger, Citi Mini.... it is side by side, fits through normal doorways, folds super easy and pretty flat..... we've been through front/back, and other side by sides and this is by far the best in a reasonable pricerange.
I think there are some on EBay for $300...

I know your older child will only be 1, but we LOVE the Joovy Caboose. You would need to try it out to see if your older one could sit in the back, but I highly recommend it!! I loathe those gigantic side by side or L-O-N-G front to back ones that people try to manuever through the smallest spaces possible. This one seems less much less bulky.

I know your budget isn't very big BUT I just bought a Baby jogger City select and you buy it as a single but it turns into a double by adding a second seat and it pushes like a dream! I love that it goes from a single to a double back to a single if you want!! Its pricey but completely worth it! Id def look into it! :flower3:

There's a list of the best double lightweight strollers of 2011 on a website called StrollerAdvisor.com. Click on the "Best Strollers" tab on the navigation bar on the left and you'll find it. It's based on the recommendations of the Baby Bargains book and might be worth a look.

Good luck!

My DD was 15 months when DS came along. We have a duoglider that has hardly been used (only in Italy when its all that would fit on the sidewalks) and a Combi double side by side. I love my Combi and it was around $200.

We had a combi and I loved it. I wish I bought it sooner. We took it to Disney 2x. If folds in half and then half again. I loved that stroller.

We've used a Citimini and a Combi double. I thought the Citimini was the best thing ever until I realized how much easier it was for me to carry the Combi one. They both fold nicely.
I prefer the Combi for travel, but if you are "offroad" at all, you want the bigger wheels of the citimini. Our street is really rocky and there are times where I've wondered if the wheels from the Combi one would break from it. The combi wheels also will not hold as much weight. We once had a combi single and when DD was in it and we went over a the trolly tracks on Main Street (in MK) the wheel broke.:scared1: She was about 45 lbs at the time, but one year later she spent most of a week in the Citimini putting no strain on the wheels.

I have twins, and went through so many strollers. Most doubles were so awkward, and killed my back. I splurged on a BOB. They have great resale when you are finished with using a stroller. Occasionally, craigslist has a few.

It wasn't until my third and 4th kids I tried a side by side. Let me tell you, they are SO much easier to maneuver. I have had a graco and a sit and stand and those were awful to push, even worse to fold down, and was impossible to maneuver with the bigger child in the front. And the front seat had such a low back that no child could sleep in it...it didn't even go up to the head.

I finally got the combi twin side by side and wished it was mine from child 1. It is so easy to maneuver, fits in all doorways, it is so easy to fold and it folds twice with a shoulder strap so you can litteraly carry it over your shoulder. Both seats recline nicely and it has great cupholders. It is so lightweight, but holds heavier children than the graco does.

The combi twin comes with an amazing rain cover too!!

All I can say is please try out a side by side in the store....you won't regret it.
