I'm preggers again :yay: and am looking into double strollers for our toddler and the new baby. I want a side by side because DD doesn't always ride in it, she likes to get out and walk sometimes. I also don't want to pay $$$ for one either. I was looking at the Baby Jogger City Mini Double. Any experiences, recommendations, horror stories?

We have the Twin Techno and love it. Our first son is a big boy...projected to be 6'4" or so...We used this one with him and his little brother from the time the youngest could sit up with no problem. Its been to WDW 5 times and we love it.

When we bought it, the owner of the store not only stood in it to show how strong it is, but also pointed out that the additional third wheel in the middle makes it more structurally sound. To be honest, that middle wheel makes walking behind it a bit tougher...but with our big boys, we wanted the extra.

We ordered an attachment from carryyou.com to hold all the essentials like phone, license, water bottle etc. and use the skip hop duo diaper bag, which is perfectly made for double strollers. Hope this helps! Best of luck!:)

Another possible option is a sit'n'stand stroller. You can strap in a car seat and have the older child sit in the back.

Congratulations!
My kids are just past the stroller age but I'm sure I owned/tested every stroller out there! On our last family trip I rented the Baby Jogger City Mini Double from orlandostrollerrentals.com and fell in love!:love::love: It's very light, pushes like a dream and folds very easily. The storage underneath was a little small, but I like to hang my bag from the handles so it was not a problem. If I had younger kids I would have purchased this stroller in a heartbeat!

I'm up in limbo about a double stroller for our trip next May. It will be my daughter's 5th birthday, but my youngest daughter won't quite be 2 years old yet. I don't really want to buy a double stroller just for a Disney trip, because it wouldn't get used once we were back at home. My older daughter walks everywhere, and has since her sister was born (which is why we didn't buy a double), but I know she'll need it for Disney.

My sister has a Baby Trend sit'n'stand stroller, we'll probably borrow it for our Disney trip.

If I were to buy a double stroller, I'd get one of these two:

Graco Quattro Tour Duo

OR

Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem (make sure you check out the product demo, you can change the seat positions, which I love!)

I don't have a double but I just bought the Baby Jogger Mini City single. I LOVE IT!!! First off, I ordered it from Albee and it was in my house 3 days later. It is lightweight, easy to fold and it rolls like a dream. As a PP said there is not much storage underneath, but I also bought a cheap bag that clips on the handle from Babies R' Us and it works great. I cannot wait to try it out at Disney.

If you are looking for something easy to stear (sp) stay away from the Graco Duo Glider. Its harder to turn than any other double I've pushed. I got mine for my baby shower from a friend, so I cant complain too much w/o looking like I'm ungreatful. But, yeah if you can do a bit of research and see if there are any negative things about the ease of the pushing for the one you are looking at.

Agreed! We have one, and my 5 year-old still uses it when we go to the zoo, or other places that require a large amount of walking.

We're taking it with us when we go to Disney.

I find the side-by-sides very cumbersome... especially when trying to maneuver in crowds.

My girls are well past the stroller age, but I hated the side by side double stroller I had. It was bulky and difficult to manuver thru isles in stores (too wide!!) Just keep it in mind. I bought a front to back one after that.

I have owned 5 double strollers including 2 Gracos, Sit and Stand, and a Zooper Tango.

When I used the Baby Jogger City Mini I fell in love. You will not be disappointed. If my boys were still of stroller age at home, I would buy one, but we really only use strollers at Disney.

I have gone through a few double strollers with my boys. My boys are very big for their age, and very heavy! I dodn't like the stadium style seating, because it was VERY hard to turn corners with that weight at the far end. Also, which ever boy was sitting in the back always seemed to pick on the boys sitting in front (pulling hair, etc). :headache: I'm sure yours will be much better behaved, but it might be something to think about. I now have a side-by-side jogging stroller that I love, but it is much too big to bring to Disneyworld, so we are renting a city mini double from orlandosrtollerrentals.com. I've heard wonderful things about them, so I'll let you know when I get back!

Baby Jogger City Mini Dble is the absolute BEST. We LOVE it!! We bought the parent console which was pricey..about 40.00, and liked it so much we bought one for the other side. This stroller pushes so easily, I can steer it with one hand with my DS5 on one side. The shades are AWESOME, too! :thumbsup2

We bought the Joovy Caboose Ultralight and it has been a dream. It works great and our kids love it. It is very easy to turn and maneuver. I love it so much better than the Graco double stroller we had...it is so much lighter and easier to push.

I also bought 2 city mini singles from Albee and they were at my house in days! My girls are only 15 months apart and fight no matter what double stroller we have ever put them in, so it was worth it for us to get 2 singles. In addition to loving how easy the stroller is to push and fold, it is the only stroller either of my kids have ever fallen asleep in (and they are 4 and 2 now). I also love the huge sunshade! We bought clip on fans for each and can't wait to use them at Disney!

I know you said you want a side by side, but those puppies are not easy to maneuver when you're shopping!

I have two tandem ones, a Graco and a new Joovy Caboose Ultralight.

LOOOOOOOVE the Joovy Caboose Ultralight. It's great because the older child can sit or stand, and it's relatively compact. Seriously. Check it out. You won't be sorry!

We leave for Disney a week from today!

My oldest DD will turn 7 while we're there, and my youngest DD is 2. We have one nice stroller, but a friend recently suggested that we consider the sit 'n stand so that my oldest will have a chance to take a break too. My first thought is that they could share the stroller -- I doubt the youngest will be content to be confined all day!

What do you guys think? Maybe she's even too big for the sit 'n stand -- just barely 48" and about 48 lbs.

I have the Baby Jogger City double and love it for outings like the zoo because it has great canopies for sun protection(the kids are covered almost to their knees when it's down), it's easy for the 3 yo to get in and out of and it's comfortable for the kids to sleep in but I still want a Sit and Stand for quick trips to stores, malls, etc. It just feels too big for things like that.

I have a question for those of you who have used the Baby Jogger at Disney. How easy is it to maneuver in crowds and in gift shops?

I had no problems maneuvering the BJ City double at Disney. I can't recall any stores that that caused me any problems. I was even able to take it in many of the restaurants with my twins sleeping in it. As far as crowds, I don't think it matters what stroller you are pushing. My SIL took her Sit and Stand and I didn't feel my stroller was any bulkier than hers. The ONLY downfall with that stroller is that it doesn't latch to close it, supposedly it does but not easily, so on Disney transportation DH had to hold it closed.

My SIL has a sit n stand for my niece and nephew, who are 3 and 8. They both seem to fit fine and the 8 yr old enjoys being able to have a place to sit and rest. Sometimes my 5 yr even hopped on for a ride with them.
