I'm trying to decide which kind of stroller to rent for our Disney trip in June. I have two kids. My son is 3 and weighs around 40 lbs. and my daughter is 5 and weighs around 65 lbs. Although we don't use a stroller now, there's absolutely no way that we'll get through a park with both of them walking. Also, it probably has to be a double stroller, because I could already envision my kids fighting and having a meltdown about having to take turns in it.

I'm not sure whether I want to just rent a double in the park, or rent a double through an outside company. Both kids still take naps now, and I can see them both napping at some point during the day. I know the park strollers aren't comfortable, but I also am having a hard time finding a double that will accommodate their weights (specifically hers).

Help.

I would rent outside disney...

I wouldn't stress too much about their weights... The amount of time your 5yr old will spend will be minimal I'm sure just there for when she needs it...

Thank you!! And for those who rent from outside the park, do you get the additional theft/damage insurance, or not?

We actually did rent the park strollers for the whole trip the first time. I just took a beach towel to cushion the bottom and we were set. That's the only time we have done a stroller because about half the time she didn't ride in it. By only renting in the parks we didn't have to deal with it at the resort or on the buses.

This was one of the things I was thinking about doing if we were to rent the strollers in the park. There's many pros and cons to both.

My daughter is the same age and size as yours. My son is 35 lbs so together they are under the limit of the City Mini GT. I test drove one at Babies R Us and it seemed to push just fine. Between that and the fact that I don't think she'll be in it all that much, I'm renting the GT from Baby Wheels Orlando and buying the insurance. I think it will be fine.

I couldn't find any doubles that had individual seat limits over 50lbs.

I am going to be renting a double stroller for my six year old and four year old for the same reasons you mention. Neither has been in a stroller in a couple of years, but for this trip, I would rather have it than not have it. I am renting from Orlando Stroller Rentals. They have one that will accomodate what you are looking for.
