We have never been on a cruise, but that deal makes me want to book one!!!

We did a Disney cruise/land for our honeymoon in 2001. It was awesome. At the time we didn't have kids so we stayed away from all the kid areas, character greetings, the early dinners, etc. There were supposed to be 1000 kids on that ship and we never knew it. I can't recall one kid even in our dining (we ate at 8:30 at night to avoid having kids in there). Of course now it would be a different experience I'm sure since we'd have the little guys, but I'm sure it's just as grand. They have things for the kids to do and they give you a pager so that you can get adult time. They even have an adult only restaurant (which books up very quickly). We didn't get to do that last time but it was still okay, we enjoyed the other restaurants.

Oh how I wish!

Does anyone know if you already have your tickets and you find a deal to go down and stay onsite, can you still get the dining plan at that point? We are thinking of buying 10 day no expiration tickets so that we will have them but I would like to try the dining plan sometime as well. Of course if you stay offsite it wouldn't matter anyway, but if you get a deal onsite it would be nice to get a dining plan.

as far as i know you have to buy at least a one day ticket to add the dining plan. unless you rent points and stay DVC, then you can add the dining plan without having to purchase tickets too.
I wish they would give the option to get dining with room only, we have tickets that we bought when we had discounts the last 2 times. we parlayed our discounts into 10day ne hopper tickets, so we wouldn't have the expense again for a while.

we have made quite a few trips with our tickets and even after our next visit we will have days left. DH and I will have a few more then the kids, wish I could talk him into an adult only getaway for a few nights;) if only we were closer, he would do it...but he really hates flying and when you have a 18hr drive, going for 3 days isn't worth it.

YoMickey--
according to tracking the stroller was delivered. The tracking # I sent you has a link to the image of the person who signed for it. Did you contact them so they know to hold it for you? Your name is on it, but no reservation # for them to link it to.
Please keep me updated, thanks.

Well, I was actually just thinking that sometimes people rent points for low when it's last minute too so there could be deals to be had there. So that would work, rent point, dining option, have the 10day ne ticket.

I'm surprised you have that many days left. Do you guys just do short trips each time or only go to the park every other day or what? Including 2001 every trip we've taken except 1 has been for 6-7 days. Although, I will say with the age of the kids now it would be nice to not go to the park every day.

we don't go everyday to the parks. we like to spend a day at DTD, at least one full day at the hotel exploring. plus when we have done MVMCP and MNSSHP during trips, so we didn't use a regular ticket those days.

That's very true, there is enough exploring to do at the resorts. We just never take the time. Plus if you go in January or something it's just a little too chilly to swim. On this trip we ended up getting delayed and didn't get to leave until Tuesday night and drove through the night. Then on Wednesday we "set up camp", went to Wal-Mart, etc. We went to T-Rex that night at DTD (it was cool, I liked it better than RainForest). And we walked around DTD a little bit while we waited. We didn't see hardly any of DTD but we saw the lego stuff and we went into a shop and just walked around a little.

Then we hit the parks every day until Monday. That day we went to Port Orleans and ate beignets, Wilderness Lodge to walk around and see the geyser (thank goodness DS stumbled on it as it was erupting because it only goes off every hour) and then we went back for naps before leaving for MVMCP.

So we actually had a 7 day ticket and only used 5 days of it. We got a deal and only paid for a 4 day ticket so that was cool and we weren't out money.

I would have loved to have gone to some more resorts. DH said next time we should do parks every other day so that there is some rest time.

we have really enjoyed spending time at the resorts. there is so much to do--the kids even got to go to the arcades at a few of the hotels.
SSR has the best fitness center--it is huge! BW and BC are nice though, too. the arcade at BC is a nice size and the kids had a blast there. Of course, their pool is out of this world! BW has a nice pool, too.
the quiet pools are enjoyable. And the hot tubs at AKL are the best because they are surrounded by this lush foliage and you feel like you are on a jungle trek.
walking that resort is just beautiful POR is very beautiful, too. CBR has that beachy feeling, it makes you smile, makes you feel warm--even in December.

last year we did Cirque du Soleil, so we didn't do parks that day either. awesome show!!!
one day we went to Blizzard Beach.
but the day after that my DD got so sick, I don't know if it was all the chemicals in the pool or all the people, or just a bug. nothing else bothered her, so I don't know.

exploring the hotels is a blast. especially at Christmastime--the decor is so gorgeous

Thank you for the update, and thank you yomickey for the extra effort, hope your trip is everything you expect and more.

As a Mom of two DD's within one year of each other, I have had the pleasure of experimenting with every type of stroller out there. i have to say that the joggers take a little getting used to but they are really not meant to turn with the front wheel on the ground the are misleading with a pivoting front wheel. If you put a small amount of pressure on the push bar, tilting the stoller slightly back, before turning you will avoid some issues. after the first day you get the hang of it. I hope this helps for future swappers.

i would def. be willing to throw in a few extra bucks to put towards the ship costs if needed.

ariel07 I saw you posts and will ask when i drop off the stroller and if you pm your cell number i can text you when we leave to let you know where to go and give you any other info you may need.

All of the trip updates are great definately helps with the planning of our upcoming trip.:cheer2: :cheer2:

I was so excited---it snowed today!!!!

just flurries, really--but I love when it starts to snow, so Christmas-y feeling

i was sure i posted here the other night but can't find it.:confused3

anyway we are here, the stroller has only given us min. problems with the wheel, so we just pick it up and let it spin it's way. It was driving me nuts today adn then we realized that the front wheel was locked.

It is a pain at the MK park though, especially at the end of a long day, but we're dealing with it.

I will be dropping it off for YoMickey tomorrow night.

It is cold, but very very low crowds, most thigns are walkon. It's awesome, I think I'm spoiled for crowds now. :lmao:

Just checking in. I see there is a new stroller coming. Thank you to all for putting all the work into getting a new one and shipping, putting it together etc.

RainyDaze- I see no one has taken the time slot before my trip. Will the GF hold the stroller for me?? I think there is a 5 day lapse in there. Thanks for any info on this. :santa:

We're mostly packed. It was 25 degrees here when the kids got on the bus this morning. My 6 year old DD is so excited I heard her singing in the shower this morning about Disney. You'd never know she's been there 5 times.

MayJay, any tips on using the stroller in MK?

Have a safe trip home.

from what i have read on other swaps, they will hold things up to 10 days--as long as it is marked. And we will be sure to mark it.

You can always verify with GF if there is anything special they need you to do to be sure they hold an item for you at Bell Services, though there does not sound like it will be a problem at all.

my DD just turned 6 on Sunday--and everytime I say we have somehwere to go she says--"WHERE, DISNEY?"
It will be nice to be in the warmth of Orlando--anything is better than 25! Hope you guys have a safe, fun trip-please come back and post when you return so we can have an update and hear about your trip.

Mayjay-
thanks for the update. Sorry it was giving you issues, I hope it wasn't too bad. When you get back, we would love a trip report, have a safe flight!!

The biggest issue is the gates in and out and having to lift the stroller over it. We never did figure out the wheel popping with the kids in it, and taking it on the trams, at the end of the day it was a little stressful with all the other people trying to get on too.

But we certainly were grateful for it and it made the trip a whole lot easier that's for sure.

Also in AK at the Maharajah Trek, it has some issues fitting through doorways and was a pain and held up traffic, but it was better than walking the whole thing.

DD did get some ice cream on it and I tried to clean it off the best I could with wet wipes.

YoMickey, I'll PM you with some details about the check in number for the stroller. I also forgot the bar for the stroller in our car, so we'll drop that off tomorrow morning,

We're off to Daytona until Monday (BRRR) and so my trip post will be done nextg week. I'll gtry to check in periodically though.

thanks for the update, Mayjay.
no lines makes it a great trip!!

I didn't know you could take strollers thru the Trek in AK, we made the kids walk..haha. What they don't know won't make them mad at me.

YoMickey, hope you guys have a safe trip. Maybe it will warm up a bit. Keep us updated on the new stroller. If you happen to read this, keep the raincover and sunshade with the new stroller, they stay there with the whole setup. The only thing that gets sent back is the old stroller.

I'm sorry if your schedule is all filled, I looked at the last few pages of the thread and didn't see an updated list of users. If the one in the first post is accurate, it looks like the stroller might be available for us. We would need it from when the last user is done with it until Feb. 11th. Please let me know if that's possible. Thanks

I can add you, sure!! It would be from 2/7-2/11, I just need your contat info and your hotel. Then you need to contact the person before you and if/when added, the person after you.

Welcome!!

I see Yomickey is supposed to be at WDW already. I believe I sent my info to him but he's going to be leaving me the stroller at OKW right?
