hello all!
while in MGM one day i saw a couple riding and ECV together with a big double seat. during last year's trip, my parents rented a regular ECV from Randy's and asked him if he had any double-seated ones. he said he didn't. i was wondering if any of you have any idea of any rental places near the world that have the double seats? :confused3 i know my dad wouldn't mind resting his feet a bit and taking a ride but my mom can't walk at all so that's out of the question. :guilty: any info you could give would be wonderful. we still have a regular one on hold from Randy's, but figured i would check here since someone always knows the answers i'm looking for :goodvibes thank you!! 15 days!!!

I have never heard of a double seated ECV. My guess is that what you saw was either 2 people riding on the seat of a heavy duty ECV (made for one larger person to sit on) or you may have seen one that someone 'customized' on their own.
None of the off-site places that rent ECVs rent any for use by more than one person. In fact, the rental agreements that people have to sign say that only one person will be on the ECV at a time.

I've done some looking at web sites for a new ECV and have not seen any such thing in any of the manufacturer sites I've looked at.

I saw a double seated ECV in Las Vegas. It didn't look "rigged up" - it looked to be made for two people. The people did not seat side by side, instead one sat in front and one in back. I'm sorry, I don't know where to get one.

I found this one but it's been discontinued.

And then there's this one...but I don't recommend it. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: omg that pic was so funny!! my mom wouldn't ride on that thing if you paid her!!!! thank you all for your help. i'm def wondering if it was something the couple had made. elderly couple, side by side on one large seat and the man was driving. it was definitely a "fully loaded" model with blinkers, lights, etc. oh well!! we'll be fine with what we've used in the past, i just know my dad would love to take a little break - although he would NEVER admit it :) thanks again!!!! :goodvibes

those are pretty funny, Bill.
I looked and didn't find anything. I don't know where you found them, but they are something. The red one with the 2 seats looks like it would be too wide to fit in many places where a 'regular' scooter fits (including thru bus doors), so it looks like it would be more for someone to park in their garage and ride around the neighborhood (unless they had a trailer to haul it in).
The two seater with the seats one behind the other would run into the same problems, except with length.

For my old Chaufer scooter by Electric mobility you could get a second seat which was behind the first kind of like the Made in China one is one of the pictures above or you could get a seat that was in fact a trailer you pulled behind.
with all the Hoopla about ECV's now can you imagine if a lot of people started using double ones? I think their would be a riot.

I'm not sure where it is publicly stated, but on the internal Disney site among items not allowed are trailers of any sort pulled by an ECV or powerchair.

I'm not sure right now where to find it exactly, but it is on the Disney guest website - I think it's in FAQs "things not to bring".
