Double Rewards Points on Disney Visa!

I just called the Rewards dept. and was told that the offer was a promotion from the marketing dept. targeted at people who do not use their card often. The rep basically told me that I use my card too often and charge too much to be offered the double rewards. I replied that I didn't think it was fair that those who were loyal to the card were actually punished. I will not stop using my card, already paid for 1.5 nights at the Poly LV with it, but I sure am disappointed.
I hardly ever use the card!!!!!!!!! It isn't worth it, we get more miles on our airline card and so we use it 95% of the time! No double reward here either! Oh, but my card does say charter member and I got the pin...WOW!

We hardly ever use the card because our Chase card seems like a better deal. They will pay for up to a $500 airline ticket on any carrier. We too, got the pin and are chartermembers, but are disappointed with the Disney Visa perks!

I live in Northern New Jersey and received a card on Saturday for 2% off gas, dining, utilities, wireless, etc. These are all items that I do not use my card for, so maybe that is how they are selecting what offer members get. Guess I will need to make some adjustments if I want to earn double points!!

was not offered the double points this time, the DV rep I spoke to Sat told me they may do it again next month with different cardholders. There's hope for those of us who didn't get the offer yet.

Forgive me for jumping back to the last page. For some reason I didn't get notified about any of the posts after mine.
I thought I had killed another thread! :teeth:

For everyone complaining about the perks - What about the two offers they just threw out - the room only CTV code and the other package code? They were a pretty good perk for having the card.

I understand about the anger about the seperate mailings. I would be pissed too. Maybe you'll get the next offer that comes around.

LOVED the discounts! EVERYBODY got to use the discouts. By using the discount & changing the day of our flight we saved enough money to stay 2 extra nights!! Woo Hoo!!!! But, I was not complaining about the perks--I was complaining about the haphazard awarding of perks.

maggiew-- PIN??!! You got a pin??!! Arrggghhhh....

I still haven't gotten a postcard for extra rewards. I've never gotten double rewards or triple rewards. Basically, if it is something extra, I didn't get it. :( Maybe I should call & ask them about it like some of you have. Maybe if enough of us keep calling them, they'll be so annoyed that they'll give everyone the extras. No, wait, I'm talking about a credit card company... They just want our money. ;)

I did get something in the mail from them-- balance transfer checks & a credit line increase!! Of course, I don't have any balances to transfer. We've been credit card debt-free for about a year!!!! (It feels soooo much better than the 11 years we were constantly transferring balances to beat the interest rates!) I can't get too upset with them. Their priority is making money, not making me happy. Maybe ignorance is bliss--if it wasn't for the boards, I would have no idea about everything I was missing out on!

I can't stay mad--I'm going to Disney World!!!!!! :hyper:

Thanks to everyone for sharing! :wave2:

I have also called the customer ser. dept of Bank One/Disney Visa and asked about this offer as i did not receive anything in the mail and find nothing on the web site about it.....know its targeted now at folks who dont use the card often.....I expressed to her how i thought we who USED our card (I have nearly 300 rewards) are being penalized for actually using our card....she said she understood and would pass on my concerns....i also mentioned that i thought i would NOT be using the card this month............(even tho is will only hurt me as i wont build up any rewards) we'll see what happens..

I always take the "easy" way out - and e-mailed them. Expressed disappointment that others had received double rewards, and I hadn't, etc.

The response that I received said that, according to their records, I had a flyer in my Feb, 2004 statement offering double rewards if I booked a vacation package to DisneyLand. Thanks. First off, I never book vacation packages, and second, we are going to Orlando, not Disneyland. Thank you anyway for the kind offer:rolleyes:

We don't fly - so I wasn't interested in earning miles - and thought these Disney rewards would be a good thing. I've been charging things right and left trying to earn points. The double rewards that others are getting would sure have been nice.

As I said in an earlier post - I know I'm sounding like a cry baby. I just assumed that the offer would have been to all - it never occured to me that it would have only been offered to selected members.

Everyone have a good time!:Pinkbounc

Jeez, all I received from Disney Visa was blank transfer checks, too!

:bounce: ::yes:: EXACTLY!!! ::yes:: :bounce:

I get DisneyLand offers EVERY month! We're going to Disney World. DisneyLand is all the way across the country from us.

I swear they are tracking us & deliberately sending offers we will not use!
It would drive me  if I weren't so :teeth: to be going to Disney World!

On a lighter note, when I called for my rewards card I asked if it would be easy to use at various places in WDW. The lady said it would be & told me to wave my card in the air & just look for all the other people using it!! (Apparently a LOT of people are getting reward cards.) Just imagine, we could attach lime green ribbons to our cards & meet other DIS Rewards People! :wave2:

We did get a postcard yesterday, it may be worth while for us to use it for a few months.

I got the offer today. I have to spend $850 to get double points!!!!!!!! My Mom got the same card but only has to spend $150! This is very unfair. I sent them an e-mail.

No postcard for me in Indiana. I was hoping I would get one because my car insurance is due April 2. I may wait a few more days and then just pay it.
One reason I got the card was for the 6 month interest free Disney vacation. So I used the car to purchase my Disney Cruise 2 months ago and just pay everything else. I actually got a late charge!! I called and they took it off, but it was because of the cruise. The lady I talked to wasn’t sure why I was charged. I will have to remember to check till I pay off the whole cruise.

It's not unfair. It does not have to be offered at all. I'm not the big defender of Disney (or BankOne) It's not a right, it's a bonus offered to some. Who knows what it is based on. I spend 1600 to 2000 per month on my card and am watching my mailbox daily, if I never get it I will feel disappointed, but not cheated. When we signed up we were guaranteed 1% if we are lucky enough to receive anything over that we should consider ourselves lucky.

I disagree, picking some people to give a discount based on demographics is close to discrimination. There is target marketing, but in general you cant dissallow people not in the target audience that found out about it.

Do you think this is like Amazon's getting into trouble for quoting different prices to different customers? I hadn't thought about it until I read the last post.

Bobbi:confused:

I called Bank One. We spend between $1500-2000 per month. We are not being offered anything. It's not demographics, it's how much you spend. I am so disappointed!!!

Ive seen people that dont put anything on it that have recieved nothing, and others that put 2-3 K a month on it get an offer so its not as simple as that. It does seem as though they are rewarding people who use it less. (Like the buy 4 days get 3 days free package for new card holders only)

Deemarch,

I have to disagree with you there. We spend between more per month than you ($4,200 last month) and we got the "spend over $850 offer".

That's great news! I hope we get our offer in the mail this month...I'm going to be adding our cruise to Bermuda on for the month of April!!!

What demographics? To the best of everyone here's knowledge its been completely random as to who gets it and who does not, and then for those who do get it, it's been random as to what the offer is. Until someone finds a pattern I'll assume it's random.

It could even be a test run for a future promotion. You know, Pick 10,000 people at random. Divide them in to 4 groups of 2,500 and send each group a different offer. At the end of the offer throw all of the data into a spreadsheet see which offer motivated people to spend more money(OK, to see which one was most profitable for Disney & Bank One) and then offer that one to everyone. Or maybe at that point they would take all of the factors available to them (credit limits, monthly usage, and all that other stuff they know about us) and then figure out which offer best worked for which habits. In other words send out the $150 offer to big spenders and small and see what happens. Send out the $850 off to big and small, who knows what the result will be. But if they take all of the big spenders, no balance, married, high school graduates earning between 50 and 75k per year and send them the same offer you will never know how they might have reacted to one of the other ones.
