double pushchair? - how accessible

so i need a new holiday pram and would prefer a side by side style double

how accessible is wdw and the restaraunts etc?

i know wheel chairs and the electric scooters are popular so im assuming the shops etc will be quite spacious

We have twins and i have a us stroller and its very easy restuarants in disney dont allow strollers inside. Most rides etc have stroller parks. Our uk strollers are alot smaller than usa ones so you will be fine

We were lucky to get a good cast membe at bog and allowed the stroller in as girls were asleep but the amount of kids there it would be too difficult to have every stroller in the places

We found it the same in universal as well as resort restaurants

We weren't allowed ours in most Disney restaurants (parks, DTD and resorts). I think we were allowed it in one or 2 (Turf club was one and Rainforest at AK but only because it was empty). Same for Universal and Seaworld. Some off site places were ok but a lot still asked you to leave them outside.

I think they generally aren't allowed as I guess it would be a fire hazard if everyone had them in there.

I was never allowed our stroller in the restaurants when DD was younger. Teh only exceptions I have seen have been for tiny babies.

Most restaurants just do not have room for strollers and it becomes a fire code violation.

I would plan that you will not be allowed to take your stroller in to any restaurant either CS or TS.

Just wondering approximately how old the tiny babies were? We're taking our Granddaughter who will have just turned 3 months. We are planning on holding her in the restaurants because i didn't think that we'd be able to take the stroller in! I'm also a little nervous that something would get dropped on her!

I think it all depends on cast members, our girls were nearly three and asleep inside be our guest

The tables are crammed so close together in very many Disney restaurants that really there is no room for a stroller, double or single. You'd be better perhaps booking meals for when your kids will be awake. I think for character meals as well a stroller would just present a hazard to the characters. I've now eaten in excess of 100 meals in Disney restaurants and can honestly say I have never seen a stroller inside a restaurant. It's certainly not usual practice.

ok so where do u leave the strollers then when dining ?

are they pretty safe or should i get a buggy lock aswell ?

The Disney restaurants all have stroller parking outside and there is no need for a buggy lock.

I would suggest something attached to the stroller that makes it easy to spot as the CM will rearrange strollers that have been parked to keep them neat. I made a laminated a copy of labels which said 'Chloe's Stroller' and had Minnie Mouse on them. Then I cable tied them to the handle bar and I could look down the sea of strollers and spot my labels

the pram i want is huge with neon pink seats so doubt i will loose that !!

although part of me is thinking a phil n teds one seat under the other will be more practical , i also have to fold and keep the pram in our room we will already have a rollaway bed so not sure how much space we will have in the room and get it in the hire car !!

We have had the single for years and love it - can't beat it for a park stroller. The doubles are just as easy to push steer and fold.

I bought ours and had it delivered to our hotel and saved loads. Can let you know where I got ours from if you are interested.

We have had the single for years and love it - can't beat it for a park stroller. The doubles are just as easy to push steer and fold.

I bought ours and had it delivered to our hotel and saved loads. Can let you know where I got ours from if you are interested.

It's a great pram!So light and nippy, can fold so easily one handed too.

We actually bought another one for £80 and sold it on for £180 last month (still about £240 in the likes of kiddicare) - profit for the holiday fund

We have just to a City Mini single and I agree its definitely the best one I've used. We had a big Mamas and Papas one that both kids used until 6months and a lightweight maclaren we had used for holidays in the past but I borrowed a friends city mini and loved it.

We won't used a double at home but DD can't do all of the late nights/walking at Disney yet (she's 3) so we have rented a double for whilst we are over there

I wouldn't say the Disney/US shops are that spacious.
There's a couple that have more room in them but its like the UK, some are more open than others.
There is a few shops we struggle in, as they tend to have barriers for the queues.
Cant comment on the malls though, as we tend to stay in the Disney/US bubble.

i have got a bj micro single at the moment and i do like it in single but i bought a double baby jogger mini at xmas last year when we went to belgium and found it very hard to push with 2 older kids in so want something with bigger wheels , short list so far is

easywalker duo - i know how easy this is to push as i have had 3 of them and its got huge baskets and really big seats so either the 4,5 or 6 year old will be able to take a seat if needed

bugaboo donkey - again good basket and nice wheels but not sure how well it will travel as you have to remove seats etc

or a tandem phil n teds - again good wheels for long walks on beaches etc and takes up less room in car and for whizzing round shops disney or malls , plus if only my youngest is in the pram i can just use the under neath seat to put all the bags etc

nobody uses a pram anymore and tbh i hadnt even planned to take one but my friend has talked me in to it and she does have a point with the long days , heat and all the walking ( plus i always had a bit of a pram addiction so any excuse for a new one )

i sold 2 of our doubles and one of the bigger single prams to pay for the flights lol

You can get travel bags for most of them so put frame and both seats in the bag

If its just holiday stroller then I would go for cheaper option but if your using here too the I would go for donkey

I wish that was around when I had my twins three years ago
