One of the people in my party is double pooh sized. What rides would she have a hard time on? She wants to really ride Mission Space and Soarin. Thanks.

Anything with an over the head harness will probably be a problem. I have never done MS, too chicken, so Idon't know.

However, if the soarin seats are the same as they are in DL, which I beleive they are, it depends. They are individual seats, although they go 5 or 6 (?) people across like a bench seat with dividers almost.

Mission space is tight, a harness type bar comes down over your shoulders, and then they bring the control panel right into your face. I have a non-pooh size niece that won't ride it because she gets claustrophobic. Soarin' isn't as bad except the chair is about like an airplane seat, so between the armrest might be tight.

Fat people can ride most any ride.

sorry, but call a spade a spade.

And rude people can make insensitive replies to posts that ask for important information.

Sorry - just calling a spade a spade

My dad had no problem with Soarin-he did have to have someone help buckle the seatbelt but was okay after that.He did not try Mission Space because of the small space.
He did ride ALOT of rides that he thought would not work so I would be glad to answer any other questions you have. :)

The term fat is not used anymore. It is obese and morbidly obese. It sounds like your friend is morbidly obese. Many companies, including Disney, have adjusted to the expanding size of Americans by making seats for morbidly obese people.
It's is becoming more common to see obese and morbidly obese people as Americans become lazier. So your friend should have no problems.

Mission Space and Soarin should be okay. It's a safety belt, but it can stretch out far.

Space Mountain, Astro Blasters, Test Track and Indy Track maybe hard for her. These rides you step down into, but then will need upper arm strength to get out and they don't have the best leg room.

I'd say stay clear of RnR, though. They don't seem to accommodate many body dimensions!

I'm a very tall, very slim woman, and boy was I in pain on that ride! They REALLY hurt my shoulders when they were pulled down and it was SO uncomfortable. If it hurt me (as a tall person) I would imagine it wouldn't be any good for your friend.

As others have said, Soarin' should be OK... but I wouldn't think M:S would be doable TBH. Maybe ask a CM when you get there.

It is true, and it is also why lines are being made to accomodate those ECVs as new attractions pop up.

I'm sorry I would rather be called Fat then obese or morbidly obese.

Anyway, I am 6' and 325 and fit confortablity on both rides.

Really was that even called for ? Was that suppose to enlighten us all ? :confused3

:confused3 What is with the rude innuendoes and comments? Come on people! I don't have any useful info but I hope your friend has a marvelous time! :woohoo:

Honestly though, and not to hurt anyone's feelings, the term "double pooh-sized" doesn't exactly convey a lot of information as to the person's true size. A better way of describing would be to indicate what sorts of activities she can participate in, does she need two airline seats, what car does she drive, etc? That's probably a lot more helpful than a colorful euphemism.

I would say that Mission Space will be a bad choice for your friend - don't know about Soarin'. Has she ever been to WDW before? Your sig indicates this is your first WDW trip, so I'll assume it's hers too. Has she been to other theme park rides?

In general, I'd say anything with a shoulder-restraint would be difficult if not impossible, but lap only restraints (BTMRR, Space Mtn, Dinosaur) could be done. I do believe Expedition Everest has a 'test' car out front that you can try out if you ask a CM and explain the situation. Don't know about M:S or Soarin'.

I drive a 1987 red-over-turquoise Euphemism coupe.
