Double Pearl Cages?

My extremely lucky DH got twin pearls today at pick a pearl (last time at SeaWorld he got a black one), but alas I don't have pierced ears. Has anyone ever seen a pearl cage that will hold two? I checked Ebay and didn't see anything suitable. I'd really like to have them together on some sort of necklace because they are an almost perfect match. I prefer cages because I hate to have them drilled.

I think depending on the size of the pearls, the cinderella carriage ones on should hold two. I just ordered one for DD and myself for our upcoming trip and looking at it, it seems it would hold two smaller ones (maybe 6.5mm or smaller...). I have seen heart shaped ones too that might be big enough. I'll email you the link as I'm not sure it's an "allowable" thing to post.

If you're talking about the carriage cage that everyone gets on ebay it won't be big enough for two. There's another pearl post around here that says they won't hold anything bigger than a 7 1/4 mm pearl

Surprisingly, the cage almost holds the twins. It just barely holds my 7mm pearl, so I tried the twins and was surprised they came fairly close to fitting. I hope they might fit together in one of the other cages I have on order. The twins are a little over 6 mm each. I'll take a photo and post it if one of my charms ends up holding two.

I managed to fit three loose pearls in the elephant cage I got on ebay:

I'd post a picture, but somehow it turned out that the necklace actually belonged to my niece, so she took it back.

Cool...that just might work! I notice it says it holds up to an 8 mm pearl vs. 7 for the carriage. Since the carriage almost held both, I think the elephant might be wide enough to do so. I will order it, and I can just use it for the 7 mm one I got at the same time DH got the twins if they don't fit.

I also misread the OP's post. I thought we were trying to fit 2 average size pearls in there from two seperate occasions, didn't see the twins thing.

If your pearls are 6mm, you'll need at least 11mm for 2 to fit inside and not be jammed (they would still sit diagonal on top of each other). I'm also the poster that posted pics of the cage with my 7 1/4 mm pearl inside, I don't think 2 6mm's will work in it (and lock shut). Later today I can go through my beads and test it out though and let you guys know.

Ok, 6mm twin pearls will fit just fine inside of the carriage. I would say up to 6.25 comfortably and 6.5 even with a tight squeeze. Measuring the inside dimensions of the carriage you have 13mm to play with. Here's the carriage with 2 pink 6mm Swarovski pearls:

Just a note on those ones from Fire Mountain... they don't open like the ones from ebay. There's no hinge. I'm sure the PP who mentioned this realized but I'm not sure everyone else would.

The space between the bars or swirl on these cages needs to be spread open, versus the hinge design of what's on ebay, and while I've never used one of these before, they don't look like they're designed to be stretched out to push in a big ol' pearl, at least not without some warping or becoming misshapen.

Quick update...I got my elephant cage today and the twins fit with room to spare. I also got dolphins for my black pearl and a cross for my 7mm. The black pearl (smaller) fits in the dolphin, but it's a struggle to close the cross so beware of ordering one of those if you have a larger pearl.
