I have (just turned) 3 yr old twins and was wondering what you thought about stroller options. Should I bring my double side by side peg or two single strollers? This si our first cruise and not really sure what to expect. I DO know I need to have a stroller for them. TIA

I would opt for the 2 singles.......not sure how the double would do on the ship.......I have a Maclaren and just LOVE it. It comes with me and my 2 yr old everywhere.... it is soo much lighter than any others and it folds up so small you can take it on the bus with you!

bump.....leaving in two weeks. If fellow cruises think I will need two singles, I was hoping to get them this weekend (cheap ones). also, any recommendations on singles if that is the way to go.

TIA;)

I was thinking 2 singles too but your double is probably no wider than one of those electric wheelchairs that people use and they seem to get around just fine... And this way you or your husband could be in different places if you needed to

As a mom of now teen-aged twin boys I haven't been on a cruise with them but do have some thoughts:

Only you can tell how "stick to you" your husband will be - if you think he might like a beer in Diversions, you can't push two strollers. You'd be pretty stuck unless the children are good at walking with you - again, only you know that but I know my kids would run in opposite directions often so walking very far alone with them wouldn't be practical.

I think the only negative of your double stroller is fitting through the elevator doors - and fitting inside the elevator with all the other people (sometimes it is a bit crowded. You will see people with double side by side on the ship

Have a great trip!

A co-worker has 6 month old twins. She uses 2 umbrella type strollers but also has a set of "clips" that hook the strollers together into a double wide. That way if she and her husband are together, they can each push a stroller, or if she is alone she can handle both. I will check with her as to where she got those clips. I thought they were pretty ingenious when I saw them.

That is great!
My kids are 19 months apart and I don't know what we would have done without the double stroller. it is very hard to watch both kids if you have seprate strollers.
The above seems great!

Here's the info/site that I got from my co-worker regarding the stroller clips:

Hope this helps

From experience, do the two umbrellas with the stroller clips. When our twins were 16 months we brought the double Peg and it was a serious pain getting around, plus it will not fit through your cabin door.

While the clips are not the greatest thing in the world, they are much better when one of you gets "stuck" with both. We also used them at the World with decent success.

I would bring the double stroller. I have the Schwin one (side by side) and I love it because it is easy to push and turns on a dime. There is also lots of room to put things in it which helps. Having both adults pushing all the time is tough. Clipping the strollers together is okay if you are out and about but is harder on the ship. Also, mine won't sleep in them so that made it hard.

Thanks for all the reply's. I went out and bought 2 umbrella Maclarens(volvo). I also purchased the clips. We tried it all out in the store and it works terrific!! The strollers close with your foot, have a small basket, a strap to carry it with and are only 8lbs.

We live and Florida and are at WDW a lot, so I know they will come in handy long term. We tried them out at the zoo this past weekend and let me tell you....it was sooooo much more pleasant. They didnt fight with each other, they both didnt have to see the same thing at the same time and it was wonderful.
I have the side-by-side Peg and HATE it. I think that was another reason I wanted something different. I dont think DH will be leaving me too often and if he does, I can even steer these strollers with one hand when they are clipped together....did I say I lOVE THEM??

SO glad it worked out and I hope you have a fantastic and PEACEFUL cruise!

You will not be sorry you bought the maclarens. They are the lightest and easiest strollers to use and take with you. I wouldn't trade mine for anything. I wish I knew about them when I had my DD who is now 9.........
