We are taking our In-Step Safari TT with us as we have 4 children ages 8, 7, 5 and 2 and the 7 and 5 year old frequenly like to ride as well and this is one of the only strollers rated to hold the weight of any 2 of our children.

Is this going to be like a huge pain in the you know what to take on a bus or the monorail?

Would it be smarter to drive to the parks?

This is our first trip to Disney World, we are staying at Shades of Green and will be driving from Maine (well Wisconsin after driving there from Maine). We do not have park hopper (after much deliberation we decided against it) and will only be coming to a park and then leaving when we are done for the day (our kids sleep beautifully in strollers etc.) so we would only probably have a couple bus rides a day and my dh is going to be the stroller jockey and says he isn't worried....but of course I am!

Opinions?

Thanks in advance!

but as long as you know that before hand it should be alright; MK bus is always the most crowded so prepare. If you are no hopping I suggest joining Tour Gude Mike's Website (there is a link on the Theme Parks discussion board that save you $3). The great thing about hopping is that if a park is a mob scene by noon you can go somewhere else. TGM's site give really good touring tips especially with regard to which parks to go to on what day. For $18 it is well worth it. For our upcoming trip April I had to make some major changes to my itinerary based on TGM's recommendations; they way he explained and rationalized it it made complete sense.

It should not be a problem getting the strollers on the bus. How big the crowds are depend on what time of the year you are going and also what time of the day. If you are staying at shades of green, I assume you are military, so you probably have a camelback. Take it. I usually take two, a 70 oz and a 100 oz. I fill them up with ice and water, it will save you alot of money in water. An 8 oz bottle goes for about $5.00. Did you know that you can get a discount on the tickets if you buy them at the resort? As far as driving to the resort I would not recommend it. It is so much easier and convenient to take the bus. Usually the buses run I believe is every 15 minutes.

Honestly, unless the bigger kids can't make it in the mall for an afternoon without riding, I would bring a "regular" stroller for the 2 year old that reclines because the toddler will spend alot of time in it and most probably sleep and eat and stuff. You can rent a double for the bigger kids on a particularly long day if you need to, but then you wont have to deal with it on the "commute."

Unless you're going during a very slow time of year (and I'm not sure there truly is one any longer), I absolutely would NOT bring such a bulky stroller. We witnessed several guests lugging large, bulky strollers onto the buses this past week. Not only was there not room for these big strollers but also they created a hazard as the owners had a difficult time controlling children, backpacks, etc. while trying to balance them. Guests were often packed into buses like sardines. Needless to say, the owners of these large strollers were the recipients of some quite irritated stares and comments from other guests. I'm usually a positive-thinking person, but I admit that I had some ugly thoughts early one evening when I (quite petite) had to hold my sleeping nearly 3 yo dd while standing 2 guests deep in the center aisle while one man took up 2 seats with his folded stroller, 2 seats with an empty baby seat, 1 for his wife who was holding the sleeping baby, and 1 for himself. Ugh!!! I wish that I had taken a picture of this; but, alas, my hands were a bit full and I was having trouble standing (couldn't reach the overhead bar even if my hands hadn't been full of sleeping child).
