Double FP's During MHP Overlap

I had a thought. If we were to enter the parks using our Annual Passes this afternoon (before MHP or the overlap period)...and then re-enter at 4:00 using our MHP tickets, wouldn't we then have two sets of valid tickets to use at the Fastpass machines during the 4:00 - 7:00 overlap?

I realize odds are there won't be FP's available for many (if any) rides at that time of day. However, it seems like the return times for HMH have been pretty short lately...maybe 30-45 minutes after you pull the FP.

Any reason why we wouldn't be able to get two sets of FP's, assuming they are available?

We did this exact thing at WDW last year, however, it worked there because of the ability to pre-book your FPs. On our most recent trip to DLR, there were days when FPs were available later in the day, HMH and Splash were usually available, as I recall. So, while you can theoretically get double FPs with this method, it will depend on what's still left by 4pm and later.

I would think that FPs issued before MHP will only be issued for times before the park closes at its regular operating hours. If Disneyland is open from 8-7, then the last FP will be for 6-7. When I went to MHP last year the lines for rides were pretty short, so I didn't notice if they had FP available.

If you get double FP, please let us know if it works!

Thank you,

I didn't try getting double FPs during the overlap period, but I can confirm that they do not issue FPs during MHP.

I know that they don't function during MHP. I was thinking more along the lines of grabbing HMH at 4:00ish, and then maybe trying for BTMRR, Star Tours and/or Buzz. I realize that SMGG will already be gone for the day. And I think the ride lines during the party will be manageable...but was hoping for some FP's to use during the overlap (which I expect to be miserably crowded).

I will report back.

I was confirming it for Hojoanaheim.

As others have said, I don't see any reason why you couldn't get FPs with both your AP and the MHP tickets (once activated) during the overlap period assuming there are FPs left at that point. I just checked on the Disneyland app and FP return times are well into the afternoon for the attractions you listed at this point - and there are no more FPs for HMH (yikes!).

we used our MHP tickets to get FP for buzz during the overlap, though buzz isn't connected so we could have just used our APs. didn't t try any other rides, I think most of the FP were gone by the overlap time.

FPs were still available for Indiana Jones when we entered at 3 PM for our party on 9/30.

Funny, I just checked the app and Otto, and they both say there are HMH Fastpasses available with a 1:05 return time.

Oh sorry, I guess I misunderstood what you meant. But this should work! Once activated, both your AP and MHP are valid tickets. Hope you there are still FPs when you re-enter.

Have fun!

I was wondering about that. When I checked the app, I also called Otto and both said that FP distribution had ended for the day. So it sounds like there might have been a glitch. It seemed early for HMH FPs to run out, although, when I was there earlier this week, HMH FPs were running between 40 minutes and 2 hours ahead.

Well, we didn't really get to try this out yesterday. Using our annual passes, we were able to pull HMH FP's when we entered the park at 3:15 (4:45-5:45 return time). We were going to try to get additional HMH FP's with the MHP tickets, but didn't make it over there until 4:45...and then they were gone for the day. Trying to get FP's on a Friday afternoon during the overlap doesn't seem promising...the FP's are pretty much gone for the day.

I'm glad we were able to get the ones for HMH, as the stand-by line was posted at 1 hour during the overlap period. During MHP, it looked like stand-by was more like 30 minutes.
