Erik, I hate to be a pain, but I wonder what that second (bottom) one would look like without the white shadow?

Otherwise, I think I like the top one because it seems cleaner, not as complicated. But they both look GREAT! and I would be happy with either one. (I know...I talk out of both sides of my mouth :sad1: )

So some of the feedback already posted are things that I thought of at first, too.....and Chris has already given me some new stuff to work with.

Here are 3 more versions with the outline or the shadow changed slightly so it's less distracting. (Also just FYI that one cool thing is that the coloring inside the letters is ACTUALLY the map inside the mickey head...so it all coordinates exactly! :thumbsup2 )

Let me know if any of these seem better.....or if we want to stick with the white original instead:

with a shadow but it's all black and it's shifted to center and above so it takes up less space....

with no shadow but with a black border/outline:

with no shadow OR outline and just letters filled with our treasure map background:

Thoughts?

(And a huge thanks to chris for his contributions AND for how fast he's working with me!! we rock! ;) )

STOP HERE FOLKS! Before everyone writes their opinions on the logo/font, Erik and I realized how problematic it came in the final product. Let him play with a polished version that I sent him without the shadowing and when a new image is posted, vote on that/those. :goodvibes

Just wanted to make sure we don't get another 4 pages of "I like/dont' like" because it took me an hour to catch up and I last read on Thursday night!!;)

Also, as Erik mentioned, I'm here reading, but hadn't gotten a chance to post lately. Welcome all newbies! Hope everyone is feeling better after their mishaps, and all else I forgot to comment on.

Great job Erik! Look forward to another version, and if it just doesn't work with the stylized lettering, I know the first version without will be perfect.

Later all!
Chris :cool1:

p.s.--Hadley, I may be a complete idiot, I couldn't get the Boo in my signature! Then again, I can't even figure out how to make a signatur with a little picture and trip info stuff in it like everyone else. Have a good day!

Well jeez, Erik is quick. He uploaded as I was writing my last post. So NEVER MIND what I said. Feel free to go ahead and vote now, hehehe!

Yes...I'm competing for the official title "Double Dip DIS Efficiency Queen"

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

okay i let my dd8 choose and she liked the writing on the first one best, says it stands out better
I'm with DD8, I like the first one best, same reason.
PS we're talking post #2002, right?

Great job Erik and Scooby!

Okay...I'm on the run here, but wanted to quickly congratulate Hadley for being our 2000th poster to this thread!! WOO HOO!!!
:woohoo:

Can you believe it?!! We're still 369 days away and growing in numbers each week!

Don't feel bad, Chris. I can't get my Boo to work either....then again, maybe I already have too much crap in my sig! LOL!;)

Post #2002, first or second one will make me happy.

Brandie

:cheer2: For Erik and Chris :cheer2: You two are fast!

In post 2002 I like #1 best followed by #2 (and I DO like these "popping" titles better tahn the plain white ones).

Kimberly, thanks for pointing out that I was the 2000th poster. I hadn't even noticed but it makes me feel pretty special:flower3:

Dave is in Ohio tonight (talking to people about a job in Iowa--weird situation I know). Anyway as the kids and I are on our own we are in total pajama party mode. We're noshing on nachos and sliced fruit (yes it is dinner:sad2: ) and sprawled out on blankets in the living room wathcing the Princess Diaries for the umpteenth time:rotfl2:

OK...so it looks like early votes are in and are in favor of using the first image using Chris' new font...which is the one with black outline and black shadow to make it pop. I asked Chris to create a version with a slightly bolder outline (as my personal taste). Here it is for comparison...what do people think?

The original (white lettering):

The first version with the new shadow (which people voted for above):

And the same as above only with a slightly bolder outline to make it stand out more:

So is that a logo we can all stand behind? Put in our DIS signatures? Wear around our necks on our lanyards? Print on a TShirt or duffle bag or door magnet or fish extender or backpack or whatever else??

If so then I will start creating "final files" and post them tomorrow! :cool1:

ooooo I like the last one best (thicker outline) but number 2 is good also.

Oh and Chris, I was so excited about the logo earleir I forgot to tell you I still love you even if you can't get the boo into your siggy:hug: :rotfl2:

Erik & Drea, we can't thank you enough for all your hard work!! These are awesome! I can't decide between #2 and #3 above......either is fine with me !

Crissi

Janet and I will stand behind which ever logo the group wants. Just let us know what the final decision is once all the votes are in. Lois

Erik, Drea, and Chris, you've done some awesome work!!! Thank you soooo much!

Personally, I like the thicker black outlining on the words, yet, I would be thrilled with any of these finalist!

Okay...I want to join your jammy party!! popcorn:: That sounds like a great evening!! I hope Dave has a fruitful and safe trip here in Ohio!

Yep! For our cruise in 370 days!!

The total number of people going with us is still actually up in the air, so planning that we may need more space/rooms, I've booked Country Inn & Suites. That's the contingency plan. Otherwise, my ressie is at Radisson. So as soon as all the plans are solidified, I'll cancel one of them.

One note to pass along to AAA members....the Radisson mentioned that the AAA rates have not been published yet, so they said we could check back later and they would make an adjustment if the price would indeed change to reflect a AAA rate.

So which is your preference?? Have you stayed at either one before? We are planning on flying in Friday night but we would probably not get there until around 11PM if we are lucky since we cannot take DD out of school for more than 5 days and DH will have a hard enough time getting off for the 7 days of the cruise! :sad1:

I have not been to the Radisson nor Cross Country Inn & Suites in PC. I've read several reviews, both on DISboards as well as TripAdvisor.com, and I think my preference is CCI&S. Obviously I'm not really sold on either. So I'll leave the evaluation to others on the boards. :)

IMO, I just need a clean pillow to sleep on one night, assuming we'll be able to sleep with all the excitement!! The pools look much bigger and perhaps nicer at the Radisson, but if you're coming in late, that will have no relivance to you. Shirley Nelson (The Perfect Gift owner), seems to speak well of both places, which is a testiment as well.
