We are new to DCL, but everyone we know who has been has said that Castaway Cay is the best. So we are thinking about this cruise since it goes twice. Hope to book by the end of the week as we don't want to see the prices change! :wizard:

Oh yea, how do I get that ticker on my pages, I want to list my upcoming trips too!:hourglass

Welcome aboard!! You'll LOVE castaway.. sooooo nice... Lots to do or just Lay around on the beach.. either way it is awesome...

As for the ticker... Go to Tickerfactory.com follow the directions and copy and paste the code for a bbl board...

Welcome Pfishgirl and MeggieLa

I need some opinions from my crusing buddies.

We are going to Disney Oct 28, 2007we have DVC so we are hoping to stay at Wilderness Lodge from Sun-Fri, then we were going to stay at My sister in laws place for Friday and Saturday night. We plan to do MNSSHP, hang out at the resort, do swimming, relaxing etc, not do the parks. Maybe do Sea World. I am thinking about surprising dh and kids with a 3 day cruise. BUT since we are going to do the 7 day crusie in 2008 we wont be back to the parks until AT LEAST 2009. SO I can either spend the $1700.00 for 10 day hoppers and do some parks this October or spend that money and do a 3 day cruise.

If I get the hoppers we usually spred them out over 3 trips, but the cruise would be HEAVENLY.

HELP, Opinions PLEASE

Get as much of the Parks as you can while they are this age.
That's my 2 cents.

The 3 day Cruise is great, but it really isn't enough time IMHO, whereas 3 extra days or more at WDW is awesome.

Wait till 08 for the Cruise and then the anticipation will be even that more intense!

I concur with FF. And it's not just because he's a fellow geek :rolleyes1

Welcome to Stacy and (possibly) Meggie! Join us, Meggie.....JOIN US.

I agree... as much as I LOVE cruising.. def go for the Xtra days at Disney.. the kids will be on a cruise anyway right?? so may as well splurge while in Disney..

Denise: I'm with everyone else - go to the parks!:woohoo: a 3 day is so short, and there is so much to experience at the parks. If you go to the MNSSHP only, you will wish you had more time to tour! We went to the Christmas party (can't remember the acronym :lmao: ) for one night before our Eastern cruise, and I was wishing we had time for the parks.

Welcome pfishgirl and meggie! Nice to have you aboard:yay:

WHOO HOO!!! We all got letters from DCL this weekend with our Ressies and a postcard from Mickey, etc. It made our plans feel so official!:dance3:

We got our postcard and letter also, I swear I read it 1000 times a day.:rotfl:

I told dh last night that since we have the cruise booked for 2008, it would be detrimental to my health to NOT do the parks in October:lmao: , so we are getting the 10 day hoppers and the dining plan WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:cool1:

Thanks for the advice, you are all right, the kids are only young once!!!!!

Welcome Sabor, glad you found us:)
I also have a DD 9 and a DS 6!!!

Pfishgirl
What excursions are you looking at?

We like the Cozumel Catamaran/Snorkel, but we also like Paradise Beach. IN Costa Maya we like the Chacchoben Mayan Ruin tour, I think a lot of Disers have done this one, some disers have even brought school supplies for the kids! For Castaway Cay I think dh and I are going to be "bad" parents and put the kids in the club and go jet skiing, we LOVE to jet skii:cool1:

Matthew and I just got back from Wal Mart and picked up the CUTEST pirate bandanas, Pink for Rachel and I, Red for Matthew and Black for Steve, they have skulls on them, perfect for Pirate Nite, man I AM OBSESSED!!!!

Welcome Sabor! I hope you don't scare easily.... :rolleyes1

I am going to have such a hard time deciding between shore excursions. Especially in Cozumel! All of them sound very similar, and so great! I started with a "system" - whittle out the ones that were 7 hours long because I don't like to be tied down for the whole day. But that still left about 8 to choose from. *sigh*

I didn't see anything yet on the DCL site for Costa Maya.....then again, it is 19 months away. But I need the info to feed my type-A anxieties! :rotfl2:

So we made the plan. :cool1: We went ahead and booked - Cabin 8542. At time of cruise it will be
me and DH
DS Jake will be 11
DS Sam will be 8
DD Olivia will be 4
My parents are also coming - cabin 8544
and hopefully my brother and sister and their kids too! :cheer2:

It's nice to have people to chat with that actually care about what I am doing in 2008! Otherwise I think I would drive my friends and neighbors crazy going on about ME and MY trip! :goodvibes
Can't wait! :cloud9:

I agree, 7 hours is too long!!!

I have the passporter and the excursions are listed in there. Check out castawayclub.com, there is a link on the right hand side to Eastern and Western Excursions, then you will see a link for Costa Maya excursions, some look fun:)

We are getting snow here outside of Philly so Now I have more time on my hands to obsess about a cruise that is over 590 days away:rotfl2:

 Happy Valentine's Day Everyone

Erica, try this link at cruise critic. There are all kinds of things to do at Costa Maya. It appears as though booking a ruins tour with Dave and Ivan is the big thing there. I'm not sure if the kids are up for it (I am though), but I've got plenty of time to vacillate

http:

//boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=169

Apparently I don't have enough posts yet to post a link so you need to put the http: and the //boards...all together to make the link work. Sorry, I'll try to make a few inane posts in the hope that will somehow make me worthy.

I'm still looking for a link, but I am sure that at some point during my life I have seen mention of an airboat tour there that takes you to a crocodile farm, etc. The kids might like that a wee bit more, but it needs to more than a figment of my imagination for everyone to take part.

At this point we fly out of Philly, hopefully we will live elsewhere by the time we cruise. We are from the west and our hearts our still in Seattle
We hope to head back that way soon!
