My family and I were supposed to be going on the upcoming October 6th Western cruise on the Magic, but had to cancel because we are having a house built. I couldn't take it any longer, so I booked the Double-Dip today with D.U. I am a major "over-planner", so I can't wait to chat with you all over the next 12 months! I would also like to add that I agree with those of you who believe that vacation time IS cocktail time!)

Myself (26), DH/Mike (27), DD/Madison (9), DS/Chase(2)
Cat. 6, Cabin 6108

My daughter is extremely excited and can't wait to meet new friends on the ship. Is there a kid's chat started yet?

Welcome and so glad you booked ! My kids are the same ages as yours. My DD Danielle is 9 now and DS Erik is 2 now. They will be 10 and 3 on the cruise! I'm sure they will have a great time together !

:cheer2: Welcome Arin and crew! I see there are still some cat 6 left! I know it is filling up fast. My DGS Myles will be 3 also. I am sure they will have a great time at the pool and the Oceaneers club!

After many months of hinting and proding! We finally got my DH's best friend to book this cruise! He is a single guy in a cat 5 on deck 7! My thoughts are, now we will have a stateroom with a verandah to hang out in! :thumbsup2

Have a great weekend everyone!

Denise, it's still promising for your wish! I was so sad to see the love birds voted out this week!! :sad1:

HEHE, I know, he is almost as good as Will from BB2, who is now on Dr. 90210, Man I need to stop watching reality TV. I admit I do like Jessica and Eric together:)

There hasn' yet been a kids' meets yet, however, Denise (rkandmjsmommy) volunteered to get one organized when we get closer. I think there may have been someone else who said they would be happy to help as well, but honestly it doesn't appear that I took note of that comment.

I am volunteering CrissiChef to help out:cool1:

 Woo Hoo

That's very cool! I have him added to the list!!

You can always check out Post 577 for current stats, but I will tell you that with Doug's friend joining us, we have 112 cabins account for!!!

has anyone decided where they will be staying the night before we leave. last year we stayed at downtown disney but we would like to stay at the port this year. i am looking for suggestions from personal experience. thanks.

18 DAYS UNTIL OUR 365 DAY COUNTDOWN STARTS

We will have just finished up a family reunion of sorts that Friday. So we will be at WDW. We have stayed at the Raddison Port before and it worked out well. And we have stayed at WDW the night before and parked at the port, and that was fine also. I am not sure which we will do at this time. I have a feeling if we can snag a good rate at the Raddison, we will stay there.

We were looking at the Hyatt at MCO possibly. We are looking at what would be most convenient........but we are open to ideas from past experience too !

We stayed at the Radisson at the Port last year. They provide a shuttle service available to take you to the port.

We're thinking a Kids' Suite at the Country Inn and Suites. We've done Marriott Orlando and AKL before.

Michael's has soft foam pirate costume pieces for under $5 a piece, btw. Kiddo now has a hat, a hook, and a sword I'm comfortable giving her. I got myself a black and silver thread boa. :rotfl:

I gotta go look up info on the "hot tubs in your room" for DH. I'm thinking he'll settle for a villa for an hour or two, so long as it doesn't involve any fancy schmancy face rub.

*wave*

Not sure where we are staying, MCO Hyatt... Radisson at the port... or there is a Marriott near the port also... Such hard decisions in life LOL.

I cant decide if I want to stay in the airport b/c I think it would be cool then take a bus/van to the port
OR
Get to a hotel near the port Friday night and get to the port as early as possible on Sat so we can get as much boat time as we can. Waiting for the rates for the Marriott at the port to be released for our dates. Staying at Marriott will be about $199/night as of now. I am sure it will go up as we get closer!

Our first cruise we arrived at the ship as early as possible. Such a long wait! Second time we arrived at 12:30 and just walked on the ship. I think we will do that again!

I'm torn between the Country Inns & Suites with the kids room or somewhere on the beach. We will be arriving in the afternoon the day before and it seems such a shame to go all the way to Cocoa Beach and not dip my toes into the ocean.

Plus, when I was a kid my family used to drive down to Cocoa Beach every year (holy cow, I don't know how my parents did it, cooped up with three boys for that long). It would be nice to stay on the beach at least once with my gang. I'm thinking maybe the Hilton...

Erik, since Hadley won't be on and you will see her soon, pass on my sympathies about the potential move and congrats for the parts in Pippen! I hope ya'll have fun at the World. I'll be thinking of you. I'll send your measurements as soon as I dig them out. Oh, and I'll join some club with you, since I don't drink or read for entertainment, either. (I do love history books, though!) Too bad you don't do yarn...we could have a knit club...but you DO sew, which is why I fell in love with you (wink, wink, we all know Jason need not worry!) so maybe a "creative genious" club! LOL

Alright you big tease.....my heart just did a leap....does this mean you're officially booked on this cruise with us? Thanks for remembering to do my measurements! Honestly I know how to crochet and I started to learn to knit once, but didn't keep it up. I wouldn't mind knowing how to do it...my best friend is a big knitter and he's always making fun scarves and things.
