I was at walmart today and found 5sheets for almsot $8. So I nabbed them .. probably should have got 2 packs for all that im planning...

I suppose its not too early to start working on these, eh? Having trouble getting my brain in gear for this type of thing so early.......(still in the gathering info/rough planning stage).

I feel the same way.........I guess it is never too early to start!! Time flies by, before we know it, we will be packing ! My husband thinks I'm crazy for counting down so early, but I can't help it !!! I AM SOOOOO EXCITED !!!

I of course jumped at it cuz its really hard to talk around them and PLAN. BUT at the same time maybe it would be a better surprize for xmas?? (some of there gifts could be for the cruise etc... oy such a toss up) So not sure what to do....

any ideas on whats better the yr mark in a few weeks or hold out to xmas? what would you all do?

Well as I look at the ages of your two DSs, with "J" being only 5, one year won't mean much to him other than it being more days to ask "when, mommy, when?".

Although the 1 year mark for all of us adults is extremely exciting (especially when many of us on here have been waiting 16 or 18 months since we booked), imo, the boys would be more excited to have this surprise at Christmas. So I think your original plan is great! Not only that, our logo will be decided on in time for you to use it as part of the reveal!

I'm with Kimberly! This could make for such a great Christmas surprise! My kids already know about the curise, but I'm having pillow cases signed by the characters in October to surprise them for Christmas.

Here's a question for everyone - Are you going to do anything special on the one year mark? We will prabably do something fun as a family, but DH and I will be headed for our 3 day later on that week! I thought about booking our get away for the 1 year mark, but it was easier to use his Birthday as an excuse instead!

Sorry I'm so quiet lately, we spent the whole holiday weekend regrouting in the master bathroom, and next weekend we are replacing all of the fixtures and prepping to paint. And replacing the weather stripping. And framing the mirror. And....and.....*sigh*

I know I will love it when we are done, but right now I am about ready to say "let's just leave it like this"

One way to get them excited is to watch the DCL show on The Travel Chanel. (I think someone on the forum site wrote that it will air on 9/9 - you could always record it and include that with your surprise) We watched this show last year before our trip to WDW and were all drooling to get on the ship! This might make it more fun at Christmas when you let them know they get to go on a Disney Cruise!

When we told our kids the first thing they said was, "Is that the boat with the great kids clubs and the pool with the slide?"

It would be fun to wrap up a bunch of little clues - snorkel, pail and shovel, picture of a life jacket, disney characters - build up to really easy clues - of course at 5 I guess they all have to be easy

And don't forget the DCL planning DVD - we watched it 100 times before we actually sailed last time - now my DS and DIL are doing that! My DGS 2 says, "There's the big boat!!! We're going there!" whenever he sees the pics of the ship!

Hey there, Arin!! Welcome to our DDD!! I'm sorry that your Oct '07 vacation plans changed, but it's very exciting that you're able to look forward to your brand new home!

There hasn' yet been a kids' meets yet, however, Denise (rkandmjsmommy) volunteered to get one organized when we get closer. I think there may have been someone else who said they would be happy to help as well, but honestly it doesn't appear that I took note of that comment.

I'll assume that the kids' ages are current. Therefore, at the time of the cruise, Madision will have five other 10 yr old girls joining her. Your son will have two other 3 yr old buddies and four 3 yr old little ladies to chase!

We had a great time in North Carolina. Fayetteville doesn't have much to speak of (which was what I anticipated), but we had a great time nonetheless. We met some really nice people there too. You may recall all the drama I had about not having our hotel ressies made far in advance (heart failure for us OCD VPs). Thankfully, we didn't have to call upon Mindy the killer licker to rescue us! (Thanks again for the offer Tiffany!) There was indeed a room at the inn waiting for us when we got there!

Yet as we all know, not any vacation, regardless of how short/long or exciting/frustrating, can go without some story to write home about....

My DF didn't sleep at all before we left at 3:30 am (which was later than anticipated anyways). Why?? I have no idea, but he said he couldn't even think about getting to sleep until 1:00, so he figured he would be best to just not fall asleep at all. So, needless to say, I was driving after about 1.5 hours.

We had been on the road for about 4 hours, and I reached behind the passenger seat to get my purse to pay for the toll road. Hmmm.....where is my wallet? I was reaching to pull things off the floor thinking perhaps it fell out of my purse onto the floor. All my rustling woke him up. Sure enough, I left my wallet in the front seat of MY car (parked waaayyyy back in Columbus). I had taken it with me to make a mad dash to pick up some caffeine prior to us leaving. UGH!! Needless to say, Ms. Kimberly didn't go more than 5 MPH over the speed limit!!

So it wasn't a really big deal, but I was not happy with myself! It was still a great getaway though!

I hope all of you had an enjoyable weekend/week as well.
