We're at 54 days until we leave. I can't believe it!

And we start school in two weeks, to make up for all the time we'll be taking off in September. I think this cruise will be a no school at all cruise for us.

Dh is finally at his final posting. He says it looks like New Mexico (he grew up there), and it's hot, and there are flies that carry some debilitating disease with no immunization against it, so when he goes out, he has to be completely covered. He's already had one blinding sandstorm, 105+F temperatures, and rain, only the second time in a year someone told him.

Yay for Crusie Next Month!!! Before we know it, we'll be saying "We're crusing this month!"

I'm STILL undecided on my adult FE gifts. Aggggh. I just need to decide on something after all & do it! I get so excited when I read about the FE gifts here & on the our DD website... I can't wait to see Reese's face light up when we find little surprises in there You guys rock!!

We are beyond excited, maybe I will throw a little cruise pre party Sunday night at surprise, any ideas on what I can serve?

Why not do some mexican food since we'll be visiting a port in Mexico????? or do all finger foods and set it out like a buffet??? Or do tropcial night, grill burgers and hot dogs and have everyone come in tropical wear?

As for the Cajuns of the group (I still can't believe we are the only ones). We have tax free weekend this weekend so we are shopping for furniture (and hey if I see stuff for the trip you better BELIEVE I'm getting it). Its going to be a crazy weekend and honestly I would much rather be sewing our costumes but since we keep saying we need new living room furniture, well this is the time of year to get it.

What an awesome idea to have a themed pre-cruise party!! I love Elliott's_Mommy's idea of including Mexican food & wearing tropical attire! That gently puts a little educational awareness in the party, too.

Okay...I have to admit that the first vision I had when I read "grill burgers and everyone come in tropical wear" was that commericial where the dad opens up the curtain to the sliding glass door and there's a tropical "staycation" going on in the backyard. For the life of me, I can't remember what the commerical is advertising.

A Tax-Free weekend?!! WooHoo!!! I was once in NYC over a tax-free weekend. That was the first time I had ever heard of such a thing unless you go to Delaware where it's a tax-free weekend all the time! I hope you find what you're looking for. I love getting new furniture, so I think this is more exciting than even making costumes!

We never had them either until after the hurricane when the state was attempting to do anything it could to boost the economy down here....now they are staple because they help businesses so much. We'll see what we find but everything I've been looking at so far is either VERY dark or VERY light (not good with a 4 year old). Hopefully this weekend we'll find something.

Hey you guys will get a kick out of this. DH is home today (his day off) so he's trying to finish up school uniforms for me.....he calls me from the store going 'how many shirts do I need to buy'. ummm we have 5 pairs of pants already so the guess would be ........

ummm ok....let me set this up for you...its 105 heat index today and DS will be spending much time outside.....here guys were pants once and wash them otherwise no one will stand near them. and I don't want my child to be 'that kid' that no one wants to play with. Now if he choses to be a loner that's a different matter but to set him up for it...nope, not going to be my fault.

So I got my mail this morning (cuz I forgot yesterday) and in it I see this package from NC... hmm who do I know from there.. I have clue. So im trying to rack my brain cuz Im afraid to open it not knowing who its from... I finally give up LOL (it was short lived anyhow LOL) and in it I find the most gorgous Fish Extender. She described what she was planning on doing as she had the cutiest idea and it turned out so awesome. Better then I imagined and ive seen her work so I know its great to begin with. I litterally teared up. Thank you just doesnt seem enough! The boys are going to love it when I show them. Cuz they know if it was up to me there would be a Target or Walmart bag up on the F/E LMAO. SO again THANK YOU SO MUCH! I owe you a drink on board!

We're cruise newbies. My mom is taking our whole family (me, dh, 3 kids - 17,12, 3, my niece, her dh, their baby - 9 months) on this one. We're soooooooo very excited.

Do you home school???? We do and always have. We're not taking books for the cruise, either. I may count some of the time as educational, though, since we're going to places that have different cultures and lifestyles.

"Mamma Mia" was awesome! It made me laugh so many times and I even cried. I've gone to the play, and I assure you I didn't cry during that, but something just came over me with all the love in the air.

I got your email in the Hotmail acct mailbox as well. Tonight, I'll take that and update our stats, including the number of kids by age. We're approaching 450 in our group now!!! I'll also include your daughter's birthday on the "We're Gonna Celebrate" thread on our website!

There are SEVERAL home schooling families in our group. No doubt they'll make themselves known to you, too!
