OH man was today fun! LOL 5.4 earthquake about 50mins from the house. Boy did we feel it. Im on the 2nd story where I work and its on rollers so we just felt a rolling motion but it lasted a good while! As I was climbing under my desk I yelled out is this really a good idea to get under here with all these electrical wires... my boss then yelled from his desk, DREA nows not the time for jokes LOL (yet I have to say I think it was the perfect time for some comic reliefe!) I called my mom who watching P and J and she said it felt like to them a hard and long JOLT this was the 1st one the boys have really been through to remember. They were a lil freaked but ok. My friend works in downtown San Diego (about an hr from me) and she works on the 17th floor and said it felt like her building was just swaying from side to side. Nothing broke, and I told the boys anything under a 6 is good to releave some pressure from the big one happening (or maybe im just telling myself that :scared1: ) Over all were good to go here! Thanks for thinking of us!:cloud9:

Whew.. I'm glad you are all ok.. I was on the Dis Boards when I heard about it and when they kept saying it wasn't bad and no real damage was found other then a water main break.. I was a little calmer..

We have relatives in Nevada and they felt it some what but nothing bad at all

AHHH....

Airtran flight went down $18 more dollars.

Time to call the airline again!!!

Thinking ahead (imagine any of us doing that!)......

Shutter's smaller photos are 6"x8", which is extremely difficult to find a photo mat of that size. I discovered someone who will cut a 8"x10" mat with a 6"x8" opening. He/she has them in the colors of black, white, or cream. Even with S&H, they are less than $2.00 (US) a piece.

Furthermore, there were other mats that I purchased, some of which I'll use for autograph signing. IMO, even with shipping, these are all very reasonably priced.

  • One style I really like because they will cut the opening offset from center, making the space for signatures more appealing. This particular one is a 5"x7" mat, so the opening can be either 2.5"x3.5" or 3.5"x2.5". This comes in a variety of colors in a set of 3 at $1.89 (US) a piece.
  • My final choice was a 5"x7" with a 3"x5" opening. Actually, you can get many choices for the opening size...even 4"x6" and are available in black or white. I think the black with a fine point silver pen for all characters to sign with would be stunning. These come in a set of 10 and with S&H come down to $0.88 (US) a piece!

I hope this will help others!

My only thought on this would be whether we're certain that shutters is still going to be printing those odd-size photos. I believe that most of the buzz about what's happening during dry dock has been about a complete overhaul of shutters and how the photo system on the boat works. Most of the rumor-mills (including some very reliable ones I think) have said that the ships are going to be converting more to a Photopass styelf of system. It's my personal hope that they do indeed move in that direction....and that
once they do, the odd photo size (6"x8") goes away entirely in favor of being able to print more standard size photos in 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10.

I still think the matte ideas and signatures is a very fun one....but just so people don't order lots of mats cut to fit 6x8 photos and then find out that the pictures are no longer that size once we get on the boat.

I'm with you, Erik! I also hope that they go in this direction!!

I've heard that hopeful rumor as well. That change is related to more than just what could happen with that space during dry dock, however. Shutters is operated under a contract between Disney and the company that runs Shutters. So who knows if their contract would be up at the time of drydock or if they would break the contract with only Magic. :confused3

Personally, I think it's low risk, and we would know once we get on board. I'm certain those mats could be resold on eBay with or without autographs for the need of many others out there if it wouldn't be our need! OR...you can always put another mat behind it (or acid-free cardstock) to double mat your pic if indeed the pics become 5"x7". ;)

Woohoo.

Now up to 188 credit from Airtran for future travel. Good for one year.

I am just hoping that when I cash in the credit they do not make me pay the $15 booking fee for calling vs. on line. Calling is the only way they told me to use the credit.

This may be short lived because Airtran may put me on a non direct flight tomorrow...

LOL.. love it, that is funny!

This description brought tears to my eyes! Very cool! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the military personnel and family that are devoted to our country. May God bless you all

I'm glad he arrived safe! Hopefully the time will seem to pass quickly and he will be home!

Your family is in our prayers

PERFECT!!! :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We finally found a Wii Fit today and have been playing it for hours! I wish I had my camcorder charged and ready to tape Grady trying the virtual Hula Hoops! Some boys just don't have hip motion! :rotfl:

It's a fun toy though! I'm going to try and play it some each day and see if it really works. You have to put your height and weight in when you first sign on and it adjusts your Mii to the right size - This was very humbling!

We also watched the Hannah Montana concert last night and had the 3D glasses, but even on a 55 inch TV the 3D effects were not very good. I ended up just watching it without the glasses most of the time. Megan was singing along and dancing for about 2/3's of the concert, but then she fell asleep on the couch. :confused3

Have a great evening. I'm going to try and get Doug off of the Wii Fit so I can have another turn.

Tiffany

The WII Fit is awesome!!!!!!!!!! I preordered it so I had the day it came out. I don't play it as much as I would like due to household chores and watching my 4 yr old who doesn't quite grasp it all yet and gets frustrated. It can be very addictive and hours of fun. My 15 year old nephew got 815 spins on the super hula hoop.:cheer2:
