Amy I covered the chair because she is a horribly messy eater (normally, she actually did not drop a lot in the seat this time), and the chair isn't all plastic/vinyl. There is some cloth fabric on it that I didn't want to get stained. Plus it just made for easy cleanup. In fact the Y is an awesome place for a 1st birthday...I just took her into the showers afterwards to wash off the cake, and I took the highchair tray in there too (LMAO at what the janitors cleaning those showers thought at the cake in the drain trap! )

I'm a messy eater too! I always drip/drop on myself. Dave is joking that I'm going to need a bridal bib to wear over my wedding dress! LOL!

It has been non stop around here. Yesterday was Gabbys musical at school. she had one of the leads and sang a solo. She rocked!! we were soo proud of her!!

Today is John jrs 6th bday!! I cant believe he is 6 all ready!!!

We are headed to Pgh this weekend, John sr is going to Japan this weekend.

Kade Michael-Bradley was born on 5/27/09 @ 12::16 a.m.
8 lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long. He is perfect and looks exactly like Chase did as a baby.

I need to have a lil girl LMAO

OMG so I found this thread on here for hair bows. I though I would try and make one for our trip and be a lil festive and cheesy. Especially since I have all this disney color ribbon and not really doing much with it like scrappen LOL. I am now in love with making these things LOL. I want to keep making all kinds in differnt color. its so quick and easy. ..this is why i need a lil girl... so i can make bows for. cant exactly be wearing bows at work or out.. lmao

OMG, we were on page 3!

So on Tuesday I found out that there is a chance that they may need to layoff some people and/or take back our raises/cut our pay at my FT job. Didn't sit very well with me, especially with getting married in 4 months. I mean, I make next to nothing, I don't know how my measley salary could make or break the organization. So any way, I've been thinking about exploring my options regarding job opportunities. I did a few searches tonight and didn't really turn up anything good. Well, I happened to stumble upon my horoscope for the day and it said this:

You may be very focused on your work or on improving your financial situation now.

OK, it freaked me out a little! I mean, I'm thinking about going back to writing (that is what my BA is in, English/professional writing) to try to earn some extra money so this horoscope really hit home. Writing is my first love - I decided when I was in 4th grade that I wanted to be a writer and I wrote all of the way through school and obviously college. When I first started my job at the science center, I was doing public relations and some writing and I really enjoyed it. I 'moved up' to running the gift shop as well as being in charge of the building on Saturdays. Although I love doing the buying for the gift shop, I miss writing very much. Some days I feel like my mice, I keep running and running and running but I'm not going anywhere. Sigh...

Sorry about venting...but I just wanted to stop by and say hi! Hope everyone is well!

So .... I may (but REALLY hope not) have to change our cruise date. Apparently, the Marines are having issues. They are backlogged with recruits that need to go to boot. We have no idea at all when Jared will go now. We do know that he will go no later than Nov. 3 since that's when he swore into the DEP (can only be in there 365 days before going to boot). I'm so frustrated with all of this. As much as I don't want my kid to leave, I'm going to celebrate when he finally gets to go because it's been such a struggle for us.

It's funny you say that because I did start writing something tonight! Sadly, I kept getting distracted by the Tony Awards! It's a start though..

I have so many ideas bouncing around in my head...if I could get them down on paper and start submiting them to publications, I'd be set! LOL!

I'm an aspiring writer too (gee who woulda thunk? )..I started my book in 2003 and I am still in research/development.

Of course I don't have a degree and my writing is mostly to develop a work that I personally would enjoy (the topic would not exactly shoot to the top of the best seller list, being non-fiction) I was actually in a holding pattern for awhile waiting for the court cases surrounding the event to come to a conclusion and now that the people involved are being released from jail that should be a clue that I should get back to work on it. Real life has just gotten in the way. Look at my TR. I can't even get that finished in a reasonable amount of time.

My mom told me today she is retiring in two weeks. From the post office anyway. She is going back to teaching, but she is going to teach online. The school district over there offers high school classes online for students who need remedial classes or for those working ahead. So she is getting a good salary on top of her pension and benefits too, plus extras like a $135/month stipend for internet access (!) and another allowance for VIOP. Nice! Wish I could get a gig like that.... I guess I am just getting restless. The working at night thing sucks and I shudder to think of 22 years more of it. (Remind me that it is my salary that provides all of our extras like WDW, cruises and the like...LOL!)

Gosh Shell I hope all that mess with Jared gets cleared up soon and it doesn't affect your cruise!

Well we are in the countdown mode to move... I cant believe it is in 10 days! I called and got final read dates for our utilities and now I am just waiting for our new phone number in GA.

My to do list keeps getting longer by the day!!

I did 6 loads of laundry alone today.. love when dh is gone for a week. ( John liked Japan and Taiwan.) did he bring us back anything??? nope.. just dirty laundry
