Jason and I will have our laptop and free internet at AKL Villas next week (because we're DVC and staying on points---so that's one of the perks) so I'll def. be reading and occasionally posting while we're there the 8 days before the cruise....but I'll mainly check/post late at night after we get back to our room.

Here is an ODD request I know. Do any of you who live near port (not flying) think you may be in a book store between September 20 and sail date? There is a book Marika has been anxiously waiting to come out and it comes out on the 20th (day AFTER we leave). I would LOVE to surprise her with it on the ship but do not see how I could get it. IF anyone would be going by a book store anyway (I would NOT want any of you to make a special trip) and would be willing to pick something up for me then please PM me. Of course, I will pay you for it when we get it from you (or mail you a check before we leave).

I can do it too, if whomever else contacted you, can't do it.. I have a Barns and Noble 10 minutes from my house..

PICKING UP YOUR DOUBLE DIP LANYARDS

Lanyards will be primarily distributed in the port prior to boarding the ship. I will be arriving at the port by 10am, checking in, and then "setting up shop." I should be pretty easy to identify. I will try to find a table/corner in the far end of the port terminal building in the large glass atrium past the check-in counters near the boat's causeway. I have a large sign that reads "WELCOM DOUBLE DIP CRUISER...PICK UP YOUR LANYARDS HERE!!" and has a large color image of our cruise log This sign is literally about 3 feet tall and I will try to display it prominently in the area where I am with the lanyards. You will also recognize me as I'll have a cruise logo shirt on. You only need to have one member of your traveling party come over, give me your DIS screenname and I'll be able to give you the lanyards and name badges for your whole group (and then you can distribute them to your family/friends). I will be in the port with the lanyards until it is our turn to board (and we hope to be in one of the first groups....so the earlier you get to the port, the more likely you'll get your lanyards before boarding!

If you miss me in the port, I will try to be in the Promenade Lounge for at least a little bit during the DIS meet at 3pm before the safety drill. Again you will only need to have one member of your party come and get the lanyards from me.

If you don't connect with me in port OR at the Promenade Lounge before the Sailaway.....then your lanyards will be left at your room at some point later in the evening/night (perhaps even overnight).

Erik: I literally got tears in my eyes reading your post, I cant believe we are so close to the cruise, I cant wait to meet everyone!

I got all my toiletries packed yesterday, I also have my FE/SM gifts in a carryon ready to go. Dh is off this Tues so we will be getting his stuff together and also the kids stuff... I am last!

Hello everyone,

Almost thought we were going to have a big disappointment. Last night my mother who already wheel chair bound and uses a walker fell in her room. Here we are 2 weeks away and they (my parents) were going to have to cancel. We went to ER this morning and luckily it just a sprain. She does have to stay off it for at least a week. The part we were worried about is that even though she's in a wheel chair, she does walk with the walker to get to her seat on the plane. I hope nothing else happens in the next 2 weeks.

Oh my gosh, I'm glad everything is ok! That would have been awful!

I don't think I have ever heard anyone but my DH say that! It made me laugh so hard. We do that all the time when stuff goes wrong, one of us will go "oh noooooooooooooooooes!"

I am finally ready to begin thinking about the trip!!! I know, I am getting a late start. Anyway, I can not find information on the treasure hunt that was being prepared. Did that get put together or was it scrapped? It is not mentioned on teh first post and I do not see it on our websight...

pack your cell phone charger!! your phone might not work on the cruise, but you might need it when you travel home.

Don't forget your charger!!! Last cruise, I left my phone OFF, but the battery still was completely dead when we got back home ?? I had to actually ask a stranger in port to use her cellphone to call our transportation company.

Hi Shirley. I was the treasure hunt coordinator, but a while back I decided to cancel. I was commiting myself to more than I could handle, and I'm sorry about that. One of my goals is to realize it's OK to say "No" and not commit yourself to everything! I do know some ages in the kids' club does a scavenger hunt already though!

Reese & I just finished packing all our blankets & pirate costume stuff into a Space Bag. LOVE me some Space Bag!

Hello Everyone!
I am mostly a lurker, but I wanted to say thanks for all of the hard work that so many of you have put into the preparation for this cruise, from organizing the group brunch and DIS meet to fish extenders and stats. You are enriching so many other people's cruises. You are an amazing bunch, and DH, DD, and I can't wait to meet you all onboard. My little Emily (almost 5) is so excited to meet her "new friends." If there is anything that I can do to help with last minute coordination of events, please let me know.

I am making a family shirt for the 3 of us but thought about making a cruise logo shirt also. Just thought I would ask.

Hi everyone! I can't believe we leave in 6 days! I have so much to do before we leave! Ack!!!!

Today is my 5 year anniversary at the Disney Store! Actually, I've been at my store for over 9 years but because I left and worked at WDW, I lost that time. Last night when I got to work, I found a card, a little figurine of Donald, and brownies to celebrate my anniversary! It was so nice!!!!

Went shopping for a bit...got chap stick for the cruise for when we're on CC. I can't wait!!!

Not a stupid question!!!! Crissi and I made our shirts, we printed the Logo that Erik made, on the transfer paper then ironed them on white shirts, it was very easy
