The slide has been there for years!!! It was there when we cruised in 03.

Erik, can you please make the Logo without your name so I can use it for my magnet. I love it it is just great. Makes for some light enjoyment in the fact that we lost a port and now we need to rethink that days plans. Hope everyone is doing well. Never mind I found it Thank You!

Tomorrow I get to attend the viewing for a co-workers 13 month old who passed unexpectedly this past Tuesday. It just brings tears to my eyes every time I thing what this young mother is going through. It makes me think I complain too much about the little things in my life. Lois

I lost a dear friend earlier today and my brain can't process all these posts, although I thought this would be a good place to escape for a bit.

I love Erik's new logo - truly adorable.

If someone wouldn't mind just PMing me anything important during the next 5 days or so, I'd appreciate it. I don't think I'll ever be able to get caught back up because we have to take the kids to camp next week and you people talk A LOT!

I'm looking at the Grand Cayman excursion stuff and am strongly leaning towards going to one of the beaches and just relaxing in the beautiful water. Trying now to decide between Rum Point (just for the name) and Seven Mile. And also trying to decide if I am brave enough to just take a cab!
I don't think I am.

We should have a DIS meet at the Tortuga Rum Cake Bakery what?

I looked at Boatswain's, but it seems silly to snorkel in a lagoon when you are on a tropical paradise.....plus the reviews are very mixed.

This change is throwing me for a loop! Overplanners do not like change. Let this be noted.

I know this is all new, but does anyone KNOW what they are doing? Or does anyone have any advice about the beaches? At the very least, I know I will enjoy eating the cake, so it will be worthwhile regardless

I read somewhere that taking a cab to Rum Point is quite expensive. I think it may have been one of the reviews for GC on Cruise Critic. The roundtrip cab fare would be the cost of one of the scheduled excursions......or something to that effect. Also, unless prior arrangements are made, there aren't any taxis just hanging around to take you back. Seven Mile Beach would be a better bet for getting taxis back & forth, I believe.

Rum cake - YUM!! We have a good friend from church who makes a really mean rum cake. Looking forward to trying 1 or 2 from GC.

I know what you mean about changing plans on us at this point. At least we still have a little time to make arrangements.

We're leaning heavily toward the Rays, Reef & Rum Point tour w/Native Water Sports (well, I'm leaning towards this one........DH is like, whatever you want to do....). Its gotten good reviews on the whole here on DIS, on Cruise Critic & trip advisor.

Erica we are leaning towards Rum Point...gotta love the name I think we are going to do the excursion from DCL. I read a good blog last night that had pictures from Rum Point I should have bookmarked it.

So here is what I am proposing that our new name badges would look like (this is mine, obviously) on our lanyards.....with our NEW & IMPROVED logo ...(I tried to use a font that looks like legible handwriting so that it matches the shirts of all of us who will be writing on our shirts!! )

Yes, Native Way Water Sports and Captain Marvins seem to be safe bets. I really don't reccomend driving on your own because they drive on the "wrong" side of the road. I almost got wiped out on a scooter by another tourist.

So I texted my sister (she is going with us) in a panic earlier today -
"we're not going to be the first cruise after dry dock!!! dis announced a new3 nt cruise on magic 9/24"

Her being an engineer, I found her reply both classic and hilarious:
"Good. If maintenance messed something up, they will sink, not us. : )"
