Jason and I collect lots of things together...mostly stuff for our house....we have a very large collection of tigger and roo items (I have been collecting Tigger since I was an adolescent....Jason has been collecting Roo since we got together)----we have a very large collection and our basement (which is our office/den/spare room space) is decorated with our large collection. We have also started collecting vacation magnets.....the stairwell into our basement is painted with "magnet paint" so all the walls are a giant magnetic surface where we hang lots of our Vacation and Disney photos....a couple years ago we also started buying magnets from places we go or special trips we are on that we hang there, as well. For instance we have a magnet from each WDW park, from DCL, from all the resorts we've stayed at, from every port we've been to on cruises, from zoos, etc. That is also where our collection of door magnets from previous cruises reside, as well. So the walls leading into our basement are like a large scrapbook or display of all our wonderful vacation memories!!

Everybody booking things is doing so independently correct?

Or is it 105 out already?

(As long as I didn't miss 90) ;)

Must get my obsessive-compulsive-planner hat back on!:hyper:

Ok...DH, DS and I have been booked on this cruise since January but I just found these boards and MAN am I glad. This will be our first cruise and its a celebration of my actually completing my master's degree in 18 months. As you can imagin though everyon especially the soon to be 4 year old in our house has been thrown off schedule by 'mommy's school' so this is my way for us all to reconnect. I look forward to meeting everyone and any suggestions anyone has for us first timers would be really appreciated. :worship:

Now I have a question for all of you guys.....I see lots of things that say "don't over pack" but nothing that says "pack this" for the disney ships. Am I just not looking in the right places? Can vets give me some guidence....I don't want to pack 'the little one' dressy clothes if he can go to dinner in his nice shorts and a polo shirt. :confused3

THANKS

The best advise I can give is to read all the threads. Ask any question you might have. If you are wondering so is someone else and I would bet that someone will have the answer.

As far as what to wear to dinner for a four year old. I prefer to do the dress up thing. I would bring a couple pair of pants for him to wear to dinner and maybe the show. He can have extra shirts to get more wear out of the pants. However that being said that is what I would do. I don't think he would be asked to leave the dinning room if he showed up in a nice short set.

Welcome to the group, Lois

90 days is towards the end of June. I can't wait to get to booking what I have not already did independently. Lois

Yes, that's correct. The Dolphin programs sell out faster than most anything else so it's a good idea to book independently. (It's also cheaper) I wouldn't attempt certain excursions on my own, but just about anything on Cozumel is easily doable.

your son can wear shorts in the dining room. My son wore dockers most nights, just because the dining room/theater can be cool. Pirate night is a very casual night.

Charlie: We booked our "beach break" with Nachi Cocom Beach Club rather than the Paradise Beach one though. :)

Welcome aboard!

Charlie: We will definately be seeing you all at the swim up bar :drinking1

Some of the girls have started chatting on a thread just for girls age 9-11 on the double dip site. I'm sure our daughter will be "meeting" soon. :)

Those of you who have booked Cozumel Beach Break w/Island Marketing: Did you see the newer excursion they have called Cozumel Deluxe All Inclusive Day Pass? This one sounds kind of nice because there is a kids club..............thoughts??

Welcome aboard and congratulations :cool1:

Question of the week:
I collect t-shirts from countries/cities we have been to.
DH - he doesn't collect anything. He hates clutter.
DD - doesn't really collect anything except for hair ties that she loses then when we buy more she finds them again :rotfl2: . Actually maybe caps is more what she collects - has just started buying caps from different places.
DS - Currently collecting YuGiOh cards. Also has a collection of Star Wars LightSabres (how many do you really need to defeat the dark side :rotfl: ). Oh and Batman stuff.

Tania

Jeff, I remember reading about they guy that had the www..portillas.com site as well. That very well may be another good option if we need it and if we can locate him.

Drea, that's an awesome snag on that hotel price!! Congrats! I'm quoting you here...."Me- Scrapbook stuff, I buy it i dont do it LOL". That made me laugh so hard! I can relate to that! I LOVE getting tools and supplies, and I LOVE that I have them available to me when I need them. Yet I don't take enough time to get my scrapbooking done. :(

I'm loving reading about you guys in relation to this week's question!

Val, I am related to your lacking interest in the Precious Moments. I absolutely adore some that I have, and moreso, I adore the woman who got me started on them who has since passed away. Yet I am pretty bored with them now. HOWEVER, I do want the Disney PM's found at Disney Shopping! They are just too cute!

Janet and I are trying to uncollect stuff....
Lois, you are my heroine. I SO need to do this! I didn't even mention all the cake pans in my basement or another item that my DBF says I collect (besides shoes) that would be just TMI to share here! Catch me at Rockin' Bar D with a drink in hand, and I'll share! :rotfl2:

Yea Kimberly! We are also booked at 1:00 pm! DW, DS, and Mom are doing the 'Encounter' and I'm doing the 'Swim Adventure'.....He doesn't count as a paying customer for the free taxi fare though. (Free taxi with 4 or more paying on their website)....

I really want to do the Swim Adventure, too, however, I don't want to miss this moment with my Grandmother. So I'll save that for the next time. I read the same thing about 4 or more getting a free taxi with your excursion purchase, and I was bummed that we're a party of three. If there's a taxi van, maybe we can all hop in together (including Maureen and company) on our way there. :confused3

Question of the week - mine is scrapbooking stuff!! I'm always looking and pick up stuff (I squirrel it away and then sometimes I find it after the fact of course)!!

**nodding** As I mentioned above, I completely relate to this as well! I love doing it though when I have the time.

Ok...DH, DS and I have been booked on this cruise since January but I just found these boards and MAN am I glad. This will be our first cruise and its a celebration of my actually completing my master's degree in 18 months.

:welcome: I'm thrilled that you found US, too!!! Glad to see you're just hopping right on in with the chatter.

Congrats on your Master's! Shel (Stargater) is also cruising in celebration of her MBA being completed just before the cruise starts!

If you haven't found it yet, check out Post #6 (link is in my siggy). That will get you up to speed with things we have been planning or have in place as a group! When I get home tonight (yes...I'm reading the DIS at work), I'll look up how many other four year old pirates we have with us and report it back on here for you! Directions to sign up for our very own website are in that post as well.

I collect wine glasses and old computers.

DH collects the boxes that our electronics came in. He holds on to them for years. YEARS.

Fiona collects anything sparkly or with heels.

I just have to paste this link to lbgraves's post today on the "Costa Maya Help" thread on the main forum. It's a great quick story of their experience in giving these kids basic supplies.

Tammie (I see you're still lurking!! :goodvibes ), was Lisa on the same cruise you were on that did this?

I can't find any trace of Cliff Portillas on the 'net after Xmas 2007, when he posted on his blog that his machine crashed and he lost 850GB of data.

Man... I'd love to have an almost terabyte for my house... Oh yeah... That'd be 2 more drives, the way I buy them... :hyper: Gimme more RAM, man, gimme more RAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM!

I'm such a dork. :rotfl:
