In case any of you are wondering what I was talking about in my last post to Kimberly.....I'm not above a shameless plug for a great cause!!!:lmao: :lmao:

The agency I work for here in Upstate NY sponsors the annual AIDS Walk to raise money for services and prevention education about HIV and Jason and I walk and raise money every year. If any of you are looking for a great way to make a difference AND get a tax write-off...check out my newly revised signature where there's a link to our online fundraising page!!:thumbsup2

Aren't you proud?!

YES!!!!!! I can't wait to hear your review... enjoy!

'Cuz someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But 'til I try, I'll never know...."

Last CD: From Castille to Samarkand by a early music ensemble called Constantinople

Last download: Rock the Casbah by Rachid Taha.

On a more serious topic:
Little ds has surgery to put in ear tubes tomorrow. They did an audiogram before we left for Disney and discovered his hearing is terrible- practically non-existent due to fluid from his palate issues. They're hoping this will help his speech, and explains why he didn't learn any Chinese.

Awe...poor little guy. No doubt he'll be catching on to learn his English and speak better. He'll be in my thoughts!

Did you all enjoy WDW and the family time? Any particularly fond memories you want to share with us?

We had a nice time. It was very crowded and I'd never go that time of year again. It rained, and I think Alex might have liked getting soaking wet better than anything else. He definitely DID NOT like the characters:

Here he is meeting his first character: Winnie the Pooh

He liked the rides better:

And finally, here's the four of them:

We stayed at Saratoga, and we really liked it. Madalyn is almost tall enough to go on the 40 inch rides, maybe in September she'll make it. I don't think Alex will, he's a good two inches shorter than her.

Thanks for the good thoughts for his surgery. Compared to what he's had already, it's not a big deal.

Skoi - I loved the pictures of your family at WDW!

My thoughts and prayers are going out to your DS for a fast surgery and speedy recovery tomorrow! :goodvibes

Doug had his two top Wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. He is doing well and we hope he will continue to recover and not have any compilcations.

rkandmjsmommy - I love the link! I can see many hours scanning that one making my own list! :thumbsup2

As for our last music purchase:

We usually download albums and songs from Itunes for our Ipods.

We also listen to Contempoary Christian music almost exculsively. My last downloads were Bethany Dillon and Point of Grace. I'm waiting for the new Super Chick CD to come out so I can download it too.

Doug - Anything by Casting Crowns.

Grady - Toby Mac, Super Chick - pretty much he gets CD's that we burn for him.

Megan - Alvin and the Chipmunks (for Christmas) She is also getting 2 Hannah Montana CD's and a CD player to play them on for her Birthday coming up on May 1st!

Have a great evening everyone!

Tiffany

What I learned today: that adding chocolate chips to molten marshmallows does NOT make chocolate chip-studded crispy treats... It makes chocolate marshmallows with crunchy bits... Oooops!

Let's see...

DBF said that the last music he purchased came from iTunes and he wasn't exactly sure what it was. My last CD was The Little Mermaid on Broadway...

Yet I'll probably need to buy another Wicked CD sooner rather than later since I've had it for so long and it's very well loved!!!

Is anybody else having problems with spring allergies? I can hardly stand it anymore! Grrr!!!!

Didn't someone on this thread state a Southwest agent told them Sept and Oct flights would be opening up today? Was I just imagining this?? :) If the rumor existed, the flights aren't out there as of this morning. :sad2:

I bet the lessons learned didn't taste too bad though! :upsidedow

Okay...I tried to be resourceful, and as a result, I got the scoop directly from a DISer who is in-the-know! ..........

Here is the info you wanted. Looks like another 24 hours and you will be set.

"On April 18th we will open the schedule for sale (days of inventory) through October 30, 2008.

THESE DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE!"

Please keep in mind that this may change.

Kimberly--I was JUST looking for the flights on Southwest also. Why does 24 hours sound like a long time right now?!:sad2:

Skoi--I hope everything goes well for your little man in surgery and he feels/hears much better than ever afterwards.

Jen--I am so glad things are looking up for you and the baby. Hang in there.

Everyone--thanks for posting about your music (or lack thereof--I thought EVRYONE loved music--see what being a DJs daughter did to my perception of the world?:rotfl: ). The kids and I have had a blast finding youtube clips of bands we are unfamiliar with:dance3:

So would one of you who is further ahead than I am please post what date castaway club members can start booking as I don't feel like doing the math (gotta go have blood drawn before I can eat anything and I don't like not eating so I am all discombobulated at the moment). I noramlly don't have anything I really want to jump on, but DFiL really wants me to get him and DMiL a night at Palo so midnight here I come:scared:

Skoi - good luck with the little one! Loved the pictures! You will cherish them forever I am sure. He is adorable. Hadley, hope things are okay with you and the blood test. I loved everyone's input on music, unfortunately whatever my husband puts on, I listen. When I am alone, I listen to talk radio or old CD's. I like everything from Sinatra to Aerosmith to Broadway tunes and I have purchased nothing!!!:sad1:

skoi: Thoughts for you little man

Luvtheears:glad you liked the website, I LOVE IT, and also take notes:thumbsup2

WE BOOKED OUR FLIGHT HOME, it was ONLY $55, after some persuasion;) Crissichef and I decided to stay an extra night to get the lower airfare...of course it will cost more in the end but THIS IS DISNEY WE ARE TALKING ABOUT:rotfl: We are now doning MNSSHP on Oct 5, and will fly home on Monday Oct 6:) We were concerned about taking the kids out of school for 6 days but GUESS WHAT... Rosh Hashanah falls on the week we are crusing so the kids will be off for 2 days that week, so NOW they are only missing 4 days:banana: How cool! We add an extra day AND find out the kids are missing less days, WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Now taking them out a few hours early the day we fly down is even easier

On a site note (little brag here) I am a nurse, I have been for about 1.5 years and I got a call from my boss yesterday, I won the Nursing Excellence Award on my floor, it is decided by our peers, so that was a nice honor

What a GREAT day...
Award
Extra day at disney

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Happy thursday everyone, I work these next 3 nights, and of course it supposed to be a GREAT weekend

No worries about the blood test. It is a standard yearly thing to monitor ongoing treatment--nothing scary. Just a pain in the rear once a year and an explanation for why I am less coherrent than normal (which is saying a lot, eh?).

Sandi, how did it go at the vet last week? Is Hoagie all better?

Edited to add: DENISE YOU GO GIRL!!!! Congratulations on the award and what an excellent day you had overall!

Hoagie is okay. I have to take her again next Friday to see if she needs surgery on the other leg. Thanks for asking and by the way, can we book our stuff soon because we are Castaway members? AHHHH I guess I need to pay soon. Glad to hear that the blood test isn't anything bad.:)

It does seem like a long time....even though you've already been waiting 6 months! :rotfl:

Here's the handy dandy reservation calculator for all to use. If you don't save it as an IE "Favorite", know that we also have it posted as a link on our website.
