So I have been getting things here and there for Fish extenders. I finally went through it after reading some of the post and realize I have a TON of stuff as far as kids go. NOW I need to get stuff for the adult only cabins LOL. :lmao:

As far as excurtions... we are in limbo. I figured we would save money by not doing any swiming with dolphins or stingrays since well we could do that at Sea World if we really wanted to. But seems E wants to now.. so he talked J (5yr old DS) into it but P is a lil chicken for it yet. So we shall wait and see if we can change there minds LOL ( P and I that is, yet I would love to do it but can hold off if I really want to for another time or here at Sea World if I must, since I figure we are already splurging on a cruise and days at the World!)

So MY Plan WAS... for us to Hit the Ruins on Costa Maya, then one of the beach resorts at Cozumel. Havent figured out which one yet. The 1st day at Castaway Cay is going to be family day, the 2nd will be a surprize couple's massage for E and I in the cabana's. Then we will finish the day together as a family doing whatever! :cloud9:

Last night we rented Flubber the movie the boys had never seen it and I told them in the clubs on the cruise they will get to make it. They have never been so into a movie and have told everyone they saw today they get to make flubber... our waiter tonight must have thought we all were crazy LOL:rolleyes1

hmmm ..... little "adult beverages?":goodvibes I thought I knew what I wanted to do, now it seems kind of boring...I need to give this some more thought.

We are kind of waiting to see what the Costa Maya excursions are and then arrange time for DS and DDIL to go one day while we watch DGS,1 and then switch at the next port - he's too young for most things. I also wanted to book the couples massage at CC on our 2nd day. Sounds like the perfect end to our cruise!

How is E doing? Your ticker is counting down!   Where are you staying for your land days?

I did a lot of research last year for Cozumel beach excursion.

Here is the old thread.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1475181

You will notice I changed my mind several times.

My final choice came down to my group wanting to relax, service, not having to worry about our stuff.
We had a great time at Nachi Cocom

We were trying to pre-plan our excursions and had picked the Cozumel beach break. After reading many post on the boards, it sounds like it is much cheaper just to get a taxi and go on your own. Does any one have thoughts or advice. We just want a fun beach for the kids DD9 and DS7.

We have decided on Paradise Beach for Cozumel, it looks like fun, we can take a taxi and its fairly inexpensive, $10 per person for the toys and then food and drink. They also have waverunners and DS(6) will be able to go on them, the age on Castaway Cay is 8 so we may do them also. We are contemplating The Mayan ruins tour in Costa Maya but I dont think the kids would enjoy it so dh may go on his own, who knows????

Cozumel: We'll be going to Xcaret.

I just looked on Ebay, under "hanging wall storage" and they have quite a few cute Disney fish extenders for about $18.00 with shippping and some a little bit cheaper than that. Right now there is a Chip & Dale, Disney Cars, Lilo & Stitch, Mickey & Minnie and the Disney Princesses. They do come from out of the country, but that is how I ordered mine, and it came just fine, shipping just takes a little bit longer. Just an F.Y.I. for those of you who lack the "crafty gene" like myself! :rotfl:

Thanks for sharing~! I, too, am craftily challenged. Except I did make the Mickey Head tie dye shirts, so I think I earned myself a few craft points there :rotfl:

Oh my! I am absent from our thread for a couple of days and you are all pages ahead of me. Well, I am all caught up now!!
I still need to get a fish extender for my parents room...I bought mine on ebay last summer and will probably have to do the same for them. Will we have any idea on what everyone is giving for the FE's - is someone keeping a list so we don't give people duplicates of the same thing. I have an idea on what I want to give, but not is someone is doing it already.

I haven't seen a list of what people are giving. Actually, I don't want to know:goodvibes I think the chances of duplicates are pretty slim..there's SO many options of what one could give, you know? And if you do get duplicates? That's just twice as much fun;)

:thumbsup2 There are so few pleasant surprises these days....I'm looking forward to giving and receiving a little joy. :flower3:

I agree.. takes the fun out of it!

I actually went today and got fabric so I will be trying my hand at making an FE... And figure if it doesnt work out I can always search ebay LOL.

Aww thanks for asking, Today we dropped Elbert off at the airport for him to head back to Iraq. They were nice enough to give us a pass to walk him all the way to the boarding gate instead of having to say our goodbyes by security. It was probably harder this time then when we initially dropped him off on base. I know P and I cried more. But we know he will be home before we know it! and We keep telling eachother faster he goes, faster he comes back, faster we get to set sail on Mickey's Boat LOL.

Sadly I have no clue where we are staying pre-cruise, or post cruise. UGGG im lagging. I keep waiting for a "GOOD" deal but just need to face the facts probably not going to happen for me.. it never does and just bite the bullet and find a spot before we are begging some CM's to grant us a wish to sleep on the park bench (YET I think that would be a pretty cool wish come true still LOL :cloud9:

A friend of mine are hoping to go to the snow about 2hrs away and take some snowboarding lessons with the kids (2 adults 5kids) so After we figure out this weekend of snow fun. I will be cracking down on finding us a place to room. (Wish us luck this is the 1st time my kids and I have ever tried snowboarding let alone going to the snow. Her kids are ok with snow having vacationed in it a few times back home along with her. But also there 1st time boarding... This should be fun!

Fishe Extenders--I agree that I like the surprise element best. The odds of any two of us doing the same thing are quite small. As for cost, rememeber theses can be LITTLE things. Some of the best stuff on the med repo probably did not cost more than a quarter but was well thought out or funny, etc. I hope no one goes broke doing this.

Drea-- I am glad you have the cruise to focus on and keep your mind off of missing Elbert just a little bit anyway.

Cozumel--We are really lazy when we go there. If we feel lile the beach, we ask the cab driver where a good one is for kids the ages of ours. If we are not in a beach mood then we just wander around on foot shopping. So far we have always been taken to nice beaches with minimal crowds and never spent more than $10 on a cab. I told Dave I may have to get my act together and research a place to go this time for a change:rotfl2: But, I am a serious planner and we all kind of enjoy this one place we know we can wing it and still have a great day (I bought one of my favourite outfits last time I was in Cozumel; it's the one I am wearing in the photo of me and Dave and Rio with our lanyards).

Here are some more highlights from the "wish/rumor list" for dry dock thread. It's exciting to think we will be the first to know. I bet someone will be begging for one of us to do a live trip report!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1716978

mostyn17: "I heard from a CM on board that both main shops will be revamped and will look completely different after the dry dock. :) "

Finally08: "A guy at Epcot told me photopass is going to the cruise line - he seemed certain of it."

mommasita: "We were discussing this (PhotoPass) with the Captain in October. It was not confirmed, nor denied ;) "

What is "PhotoPass"?

Only the most AMAZING way to get disney photos EVER!!! :lmao: :lmao:

I am a total photopass JUNKIE!!!:goodvibes

Photopass is the system they use in the parks where you get a scanable plastic card from a photographer in the parks and then throughout all the parks there are Disney photographers in khaki photopass vests (they're easy to spot) who take your vacation pictures and then scan your card.....then later on you can access your photos online OR take your card to one of the photo locations in the parks and you can choose the photos you want. The nice thing about this system is that you do not have to remember to look at your pictures in the park they were taken on the day they were taken. You can actually just keep getting pictures taken throughout your trip and check them the last day before you leave OR even wait til you get home. Then you can look at all of them, add borders and signatures and a year date stamp and other fun things and order only the pics you like/want....OR you can do what Jason and I always do which is buy EVERY picture by purchasing your photopass CD. Then they give you all the pics on one CD with a release form so you can get them printed cheap at home by a drugstore or Walmart or Target. This option also gives you digital copies of your pics so you can put them on websites, in online profiles, etc. (the pic of us in my signature is a photopass picture actually). Now the CD is expensive (over $100 in the Florida parks)....BUT if you get LOTS of pictures taken...then it's a good value. Jason and I don't EVER walk past a photopass photographer without getting pictures taken...and sometimes we go back to the same location more than once in one trip to get the same background at different times of day (like Spaceship Earth in the daytime and at night time)...and also most characters have photopass photographers with them so you can get great character photos on your cd. Jason and recently had almost back to back trips to DisneyLAND and DisneyWORLD and we were able to get photopass pics from BOTH trips on one CD. We ended up with nearly TWO HUNDRED photos total on that CD....so at $125 that was a huge bargain for us. We also love photopass becuase Jason and I are often traveling on vacations alone with just each other...so it's rare that we get pictures with us together in photos...always either he is taking it or I am taking it with our digital camera. The photopass photos (and on the DCL the shutters photos) are often the only/best photos we can get at disney where we are together.

The benefit of adding the photopass feature to the boat is a few things: 1.) there will no longer be the pressure to check your photos daily because they'll all be electronically stored and you, therefore, will never have to fear that if you don't check it in time that you will lose photos, 2.) you will no longer have the pressure of picking your pictures as you go because you can choose from the full selection at the end, 3.) it might ease the CRAZINESS in shutters on the last day...because if they follow the photopass model then you should be able to buy your photos from home up to 60 days after the cruise ends online...which means you won't have to wait in line the day we disembark trying to get your pictures, and 4.) less waste....DCL wasted LOTS of materials in printing pictures that didn't get purchased and had to destroyed on every cruise....photopass is BOUND to be much more economical AND environmentally friendly!!

This site looks really promising - are you there for a week? I can't remember. http://www.rcihnresorts.com/RT_part...arch&searchsource=quicksearch&logsearch=false

The site is www.afvclub.com Armed Forces Vacation club. Also, punkin413 found this gem: http://www.amazingdisneyhomes.com/Homes/Hemingway_sAnimalKingdom.html

And of course, we loved SOG!!!! The rooms are really big, very nice and the lobby is beautiful. The pool is the only drawback. You can buy discounted park tickets there, and You can walk to the Polynesian and take the monorail, and you have all the perks of staying onsite! The transporation system is much better than the Disney one, except you have no ME to the resort, so you need to rent a car or arrange transportation. My DS rented a car, stayed at SOG, drove to the ship and paid for parking in the cruise lot, and then returned to SOG for a couple of days.

I think we are staying on points at SSR pre-cruise, and then heading home right away. DS may change jobs, and we don't know if he'll have vacation, so he may book out another year, which case we may decide to do the same - I'll keep you posted. I'll be sad if we do that - I'll miss meeting all of you, and who knows if we'll get another DD at that price :confused3

photo pass would be cool!

my pre cruise hotel might be sold. my sister might be moving to pittsburgh. PITTSBURGH!! CAN YOU HEAR ME...PITTSBURGH. we are from philly, there is a major hate pittsburgh thing going on. pittsburgh is almost as bad as dallas. can you guess we are eagles fans?

OK, I need to show just a little bit of self-control. We haven't even been on our first Disney Cruise yet and I am already getting DU quotes for 2009 Cruises!:rolleyes1 I haven't even payed for this cruise yet, how am I supposed to put $1000 more down for ANOTHER cruise  I saw the November 2009 Double Dip and got excited, so I requested a quote for one of the Secret Verandah rooms. I was informed that those only sleep 3 people :confused3 I had assumed that they slept 4. But the price I was quoted was MORE than we payed for the September 2008 DD. I guess I assumed that booking this far out, the price would be quite a bit lower
