We booked the Hyatt ourselves (got the senior rate since we are traveling with my parents).

I am not sure how much the DCL transfers are. Last year we used FLTours from the Grand Floridian to port and it was cheaper than DCL but that was so that we could get to port earlier to meet friends of ours.

We also booked the Hyatt ourselves (AAA rate) We are flying in Friday night and taking a limo to the port since it is cheaper for 6 than DCL. Last time I checked DCL was $69 per person each way. We used Happy Limo on our last cruise they were great. :goodvibes Would use them again.

Hadley--I just read your Trip Report that you link in your signature. Before we took our October '07 cruise, I had read your report multiple times!!! That's so funny that you're here now...I remember I tried to figure out on Castaway Cay where your "special spot" might be. HA!

I was so worried I lost everyone. I went to look for the old thread and it was gone off page one earlier today...glad to know we are still alive and kicking:goodvibes

Actually the transfers are $69 PP Roundtrip. They were $35 for one way. We are staying at the Hyatt the night before and taking the DCL transfer there but we rented a van for the way back to Disney.

Looks like we got ourselves a little party going on :jumping1:

I'm sure the answer to this is around somewhere but I'm too tired to search.
What is the earliest we can start boarding the ship? Thanks

Whew! Found us!
Although I'm never too worried about this thread, I'm still trying to survive the one I created on the main board last night....Woooooo boy!:confused3

When you arrive at the port terminal and go to the counters to check in, they will hand you a boarding pass with a number on it. The lower the number, the sooner you get to board the boat. Its been my experience that the 1's are reserved for concierge. If you arrive right as the terminal opens at 10 am, you are likely to get a 2 or a 3. It goes up from there.

At about 10 minutes to 12 noon, they begin calling the numbers in order to board. First the dream family, then the 1's.....2's & 3's...etc. We were through the gangways and in the atrium at 12:00 sharp on our last cruise (#2).

Riding the DCL bus from a Disney resort can take some time. They usually arrive early afternoon.

Okay....what is the dream family?

Jen, you are right about taking the DCL bus from a WDW resort - the two times we did that we didn't get to port until 1:00/1:30 because we had to drive around picking up guests from each of the resorts. That's why we took a van from FLTours this past year.

Okay, what did you start on the boards last night??? :rolleyes1

sorry my mistake about the transfers I still think we are going to take a limo so we can make a grocery stop.

Crissi did you get your flight down yet? Joe and I are leaving Philly at 3:30 on AirTran. I don't know what time the kids are leaving yet, but they are also leaving Friday night.

Oh, I made the mistake of creating a thread asking what happens if you don't show up for the lifeboat drill. My situation is a little different, spreading my kids around amongst random staterooms like I am:laughing: But a lot of people have a pretty strong opinion on that one! Must be a Titanic thing!;)
Okay....what is the dream family?

It's part of the Year
of a Million Dreams promotion. You know how they pick a random family at the parks to be in the parades, or stay in the Cinderella suite? Well , this is the same thing only for DCL. They pick a family at random in the terminal, and that is the first family to board the ship. I don't know if they get other perks as well...:confused3 All I know is it's never us!:headache:

I'm never one of those people picked for YOMD either, although I did receive a lanyard and a YOMD hat from their mail-in contest.

I think I read your thread last night. In fact, I think I responded to you.

Yes, I thought you had!:thumbsup2
I'm beginning to lose track, there was a firestorm on it! :firefight :teeth:

I thought your title was pretty inflammatory, myself. If ya don't show up for the drill, you make the rest of us wait on ya. THAT's what happens if you don't show up for the lifeboat drill.

And we'll know who you are, because you'll have just come from the Meet! :rotfl:

Jen, I read that thread. I could only think there must be a lot of people wandering around wondering when there's going to be an emergency as some said they'd spend the whole time worrying about something happening. When onboard I assume that nothing will happen to the ship (I have to or I'd start thinking Titanic thoughts :rotfl: ).

Anyway I'm sure you'll work out a solution & won't have to worry about muster stations after the first day.

Good luck :goodvibes .

Glad you found us, everyone! I was looking at our thread, went out to post, and BAM! It said "this thread is closed." My first thought was, "what'd we do?" :confused3

Kimberly, I'm so sorry you have to re-create your work again. That was the first thing I thought of, not to mention finding all of the random tips and thoughts that have been passed around for the past year. :sad2:

I actually wrote a pretty scathing comment about how all of the rules here hinder our fun... then i decided to be nice. I'm glad I did, cuz our mod was watching out for us to give us a link! :)

My son posted his info on the kids meet thread on disdoubledip.com. He will be 11 on the cruise. There aren't very many posts yet. Maybe it is still too early.

Yeah only 3 girls so far (one is my DD). My son (who'll be 9 when we cruise) hasn't posted cause it's only girls  .
