...and Hadley....she isn't doing all of the work of printing and cutting and stuff....but she did an amazing job of coordinating, compiling the list, confirming with people, getting all the members of the lanyard team to contribute, etc. I would definitely not have been able to do the lanyards at all without her (and Kimberly's) help!

THANK YOU, Lanyard team!!!!!!!!!
You guys are the best!!
:yay:

It's been 9 days since I booked our cruise and I still haven't blabbed to the girls. Yay, me!

Ok, another question from the newbie <insert collective groan & eye roll here>
Is it better to book my '09 cruise now or wait til I'm board to get the onboard discount? Are the onboard discounts all they're cracked up to be, or is it better to book through a TA? I need to figure the cheapest ways possible to cruise with disney so I can make it an annual trip.

I just took a cruise in May, and the price I got onboard, with the 10% discount AND onboard credit, was more than the price I got from my TA for a group cruise. Granted, Greg and Kara are the bomb, but it was disappointing to not get a better price and then get to move my cruise to him for another on-board credit (which is what I did for the May cruise). Even with adding the on-board credit I would get from Greg and Kara, the quote from the ship was higher.

HOWEVER, after saying all that, go to cruisecompete and look for a cruise you like, get a quote, and put the 1/2 off deposit down (if you like the price), and then get another quote when you cruise from DCL onboard. That would be playing the market and seeing where you can get the best price for your 2009 cruise. Remember, the prices only go up.

Good luck!

I just came across this borad, what great info. This is our first cruise and we are so excited. We will be doing for days a disney then the cruise, then six days with our grandchildren at disney after. Can't wait. The information from this board is so great I look forward to seeing some of you on the cruise.
We chose midship cat 5. Hope it was good choice. Look forward to any info and some great meals.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Crissi: Such a Cute pic, Olivia looks JUST LIKE DAWN when she was little and Erik and Vinnie OMG, what twins:rotfl2:

Maureen: WoooHoooo:woohoo: on paying off the cruise, its a GREAT feeling huh?\

Palo: We REALLY want to do the Palo brunch, this might be our only Disney Cruise so we want to do it right! We cant book until 75 days out so I am sure we will have to try to get our ressie once onboard, but we will try online. We have our ressies connected with Crissi and her mom/sis, would we be able to book a table for 6? Besided Cyndifan, anyone thinking about booking REAS to get Palo booked at 105 days?

Lanyards: Thanks to Hadley, Erik and Jason for all the hard work, giving the $$$$ was the easy part, glad to be involved

Welcome to any newbies I missed:banana:

I cant believe we are 114 days away, I get more and more excited each day if thats possible, but wanna hear something strange... when it gets real close I get a bit depressed about the trip b/c I know its also getting closer to being over, I know I AM STRANGE! I am so looking forward to meeting everyone and :drinking1

I am working the next 3 nights :( but my paycheck should be a nice one which means more spending $$$$$$

have a GREAT weekend

Welcome, The Panman Man!!

Thrilled that you're with us! I agree that the DISboards are a WEALTH of information.

If you want to be quickly brought up to speed on things we have going on as a group, including our own website, checkout Post #6 of this thread (link in my signature, too). Then hop right on in with the conversation.

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to keep up with all that has happened/and all the going ons...can't believe how much time has flown! I expressed waaaaayyyy back in January that I was interested in get-to-gethers and all the fun stuff that goes along with going on a cruise and well....here it is June and I feel like I've missed a bunch.

This will be our 5th Disney Cruise and my DH and I are still very interested in meeting ya'll and making some 'lifetime' friends. I know there are lanyards being made...too late for that though, right? And I know there are some of you that are participating in gift exchanges and the CM School Supply Mission...I know were would be very interested in many of these things...but can someone (anyone) help me with going about and 'signing up'. I'm know the info is on here somewhere...just maybe a little nudge in the right direction?!

When we set sail, I will officially be 26 weeks along with our second child - our son Avery will be almost 4. This will be his first time in the clubs...hopefully AFTER summer camp and the start of K3 he wont be as apprehensive about going somewhat solo...anyone else have little ones around that age?

Well, I hope all is well with everyone - I would love to hear from just about anyone...it's always fun knowing people BEFORE you meet on the ship.

Welcome to all you cruisers new to our group. :goodvibes

THANK YOU TO THE LANYARD TEAM :thumbsup2

Kimberly ~ Are there any 13 yr. old boys in the group and 12 yr. old girls.

I hope Bryce (DGS) is not the only teen guy in the group!

Jeninpa and I paid off our cruise last week, have our hotel reserved, van rental reserved and plane tickets bought. We did the hotel , rental and plane tickets many months ago.:dance3:

Now I need an under-the-table job for excursions......perhaps we will just stay on the ship on port days and experience things we haven't gotten a chance to do before. :3dglasses

You're not strange at all because I feel the same way! I'm so excited for it, but then I know it will be over! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone too! :)

Well I am primarily thinking of the secret mickey anyway....Jason and I will definitely have our fish extender on outside our door....but I don't know if we'll actually be able to get fish extender gifts for everyone....most of my DIS time and energy has been spent on lanyards and nametags at this point! :rotfl2:

Consider the lanyards your "everyone" FE gifts - you put TONS of effort into them and I want to let you know again how much we appreciate your hard work. :thumbsup2

:dance3: I just paid off our cruise!!!

Maureen

YAY! I know the feeling! Isn't it great?

Thanks! I do have some quotes on cruisecompete so maybe I will just book it and then see what the price is once I'm onboard. I forget how easy it is to cancel these if things don't pan out. Great idea, thanks again!

Just heard on the news that Continental Airlines is laying-off 3,000 workers. I'm using Continental Airlines. The good thing is I booked everything through Disney and they should take care of any changes, I HOPE!!!

I've booked my last three cruises on board. I always thought this was the cheapest way??? My TA has never told me anything different. I'm afraid if I check this out I won't be a good thing:confused3

Welcome :cool1: . We are in a midship cat 5 too. Loved sitting on our veranda last cruise. It was very quiet as well.

A big THANK YOU to the lanyard team from us as well!

Tania

Yes, a BIG THANK YOU to the LANYARD TEAM!

I can't wait to see them !

Welcome to all the newcomers!

Denise - You are so right about the picture.....and Dawn says Olivia doesn't look like her. Of course when Maria sent me the picture and I opened it, Erik thought Vinnie was him. He would not believe me that it was not him!

So exactly how much is the REAS package anyway?

Crissi

Welcome to all the newbies!!!!

Just wanted to chime in that I am also now an official member of the "PAID-IN-FULL" club. Gotta love this club!!!!:cool1: Now just have to be ready for the 29th!!!!!
