I can make reservations for dessert only, correct? 60 days in advance? And can request a waterside table? And I would call 714-781-3469?

Right??

We don't want to do dinner, but I think an afternoon (2pm-ish?? - or is there a better, less busy time??) dessert there would be great during our vacation? Probably on Monday (March 30th)??

Yes, you can order dessert only but I wouldn't tell them that's your plan when making your reservations. Just wait until you're ready to order, that's what we did. I told our waiter that we've always wanted to enjoy one of the wonderful desserts but we're always too full after dinner! There were 4 of us and we each ordered our own dessert. I know some people have had problems or were frowned upon for just ordering dessert but we had no problems at all. We also did a mid afternoon time like you're thinking of doing.

Okay - cool!

DH may choose to actually eat there (he is one of those men that LOVE prime rib!) so we will just make regular reservations.

The trick is never to tell them that you are only getting dessert for a PS. Make merrily happy sure that you seem like you are going for a full meal.

Done!

2pm was not available, so I chose 2:30pm. And they said to let them know when checking in that we would like a waterside table.

I have a feeling we all may eat there instead of just doing dessert anyway.

Another question though : Are they pretty stringent on the childrens menu with the ages??

My son is 12, but still only eats a kids meal at most restaurants. Are they going to deny him ordering off the kids menu? They did ask for his age during the reservation.

He would probably just order dessert anyway (he loves the description of the cookie boat!), but just in case......

Depends on your waiter/waitress whether or not they will let him order a kid's meal. You can always ask, but they may ask for his age... Have a great time!

Nobody can be denied an item from the children's menu, regardless of age.

A restaurant is more than welcome to charge a non-discount price for the item, but cannot deny the menu item, although some resturants might try to give customer's a hard time about it. Disney doesn't give people a hard time about ordering from children's menu, in my experience.

We did dessert only last Dec. @ BB ~ I didn't mention this when I made the PS or when we checked in for our PS. Our group of 5 ordered 2 desserts.

DH saw the menu there and said he wants to eat a meal there. I figured as much, LOL.

DS and I are somewhat picky eaters, and don't eat seafood, so this sounds best to us - off the children's menu :

Chicken Breast - Served with pasta and marinara sauce. $8.99 (Each meal includes a side of fresh seasonal fruit, celery & carrot sticks,
and one of these beverage choices:
Apple Juice, Orange Juice, Low Fat Milk, Low Fat Chocolate Milk, Dasani water)

But if I had to eat something off the adult menu it would be :

Tesoro Island Chicken - Blackened, roasted and finished to perfection in pan au jus. Choice of two sides: Blue Bayou potatoes, seasonal vegetables or sauteed spinach. $27.99

LOL. We already cancelled our reservation and rescheduled.

DH looked at the menu and liked the dinner menu better than the lunch menu. So we rescheduled for 4:30pm - same day.

He saw the "Surf & Turf" and said - "Yep - cancel lunch. I want DINNER."

Fine by me. And at 4:30p, we should beat dinner hour by a bit anyway. And hopefully get seated without too much of a wait.
