I have reservations for next June at the Wilderness Lodge -- that's where I really want to stay! However, I'm counting on a good code coming out next spring (when should I expect this?), and if this code doesn't appear, I should look for a less expensive room.

Should I go ahead and reserve a room at the All-Stars now so that they won't run out of space for me? If I do, should I use my husband's name (since the other reservation is in my name)? Will Disney call me up and demand that I cancel one, or -- worse -- will they just cancel both and leave me high and dry?

Any advice would be appreciated!

My advice is to cancel the WL reservation (for now) and make one at the All Stars. That way, you know you have a reservation that you can live with if codes do not come out. Keep an eye on MouseSavers and these boards for any codes that may apply to your dates. Make a ressie at the WL when you see a code that applies to you with a price you can live with.

Disney keeps track of reservations by telephone number. I do not know if they are curretnly checking or calling to find/cancel multiple reservations. Unless you make reservations using different telephone numbers, I don't think it will do any good to make one reservation in your name and one in your husband's. They will know/assume the reservations are for the same family.

FWIW, it does no good to have a ressie at WL now if you want/need a discount. You do not need to have a reservation in place to get a discounted room when they become available.

IMHO, it is actually counterproductive to make a reservation early if you want a discount. Disney issues discount codes based on projected occupancy. Reservations make the hotel's projected occupancy look higher and thus decreases the number of discounted rooms needed to fill it. More discounted rooms will be offered if the hotel has fewer reservations than if it has lots of reservations.

HTH. I know it is hard to wait for codes/discounts. Good luck!

I read a post yesterday where someone got a call from Disney because of a multiple ps reservation. As I recall they were told that they either need to call and cancel one or Disney would cancel both. If they're doing that with ps, it's a good bet they're not allowing multiple ressies on rooms either. As the previous post says, they track your reservations by phone number and they also require all the names of the people in your party, so it wouldn't do much good to try and reserve in your name. If you are sure you're not going to stay at WL unless you find a discount, don't book there. Book the room you're going to want if you don't get a discount. If the discount you want comes out for WL it makes no difference whether you have an existing reservation there or not. But if the discounts don't come you may well have a hard time finding a less expensive room.
