Anyone live in or in the surrounding area of dothan, alabama? I am looking for some activities for my family to do while visiting my father around the Dothan area!

I've never been down to Dothan, though my brothers have tennis tournaments there often. I will ask them if they have any suggestions (though I think they mostly play, eat, and sleep when they're there). Here are a few websites I found that may have some suggestions. I wasn't sure if the 8 day counter was for your trip...if so you may be there for a BBQ festival which sounds DELICIOUS!!!!

I'm sorry I'm not more help!

You might get a better response if you put "Dothan AL" in your subject line. That way it might catch the eye of someone who can help you!

Good luck!

Dothan is near Auburn, which has a very pretty azalea and dogwood trail. In Dothan, you could go to Adventureland (go-carts and mini golf). Or drive a little further south to the Florida Gulf Coast!

I lived there for a couple years when I was a kid, all I remember is a slaughterhouse and the smell. I don't think that would be that much fun.

It would be fun to see the house we lived in though.

Dothan is south of Troy, AL - another college town. It is in the county in the south east corner of the state. Right above FL. I have been through there but never been there for any event or vacation or anything.

How about taking a day trip to the beach? You can easily get to the Panama City or Destin area.

That statue is in Enterprise :)

There is a mall in Dothan and the usual shops, etc. You aren't terribly far from Panama City, FL for a beach trip.

If anyone if interested in Aviation there is a museum in Ozark where all of the Army's helicopter pilots are trained.

Dothan is a decent sized place, but I'm normally passing through on my way to FL, so I can't offer much else.

The real action is in November during the National Peanut Festival. ;)

I totally forgot about the peanut festival! Ah, bringing back some memories from a long time ago...

Going to avoid the beach.. we are going 4thof july weekend... we were down there for memorial day last year and went to panama city beach it WAY to crowded for me. Was hoping to find a water park or something. we have 4 children (2 nieces, 1 nephew and our LM) that will be with us 7, 5, 21 months and 5 months.
